I don’t know anymore… Maybe it’s just the general malaise I have been feeling about WoW in general bleeding into my AR hopes, but I’m getting less and less sure that Vulpera and Sethrak ever become a player race.

I hope I’m wrong, and that all my worries were unfounded though.

This feeling comes from the absolute silence that surrounds both vulpera and sethraks!
it would be easier if Aunt Blizzz just came and said she would not be available! End of the matter!
But they just do not deny or confirm the possibility!
It’s kind of frustrating, I know!

But I just drop that bone, when they say no definite!:wolf:

I know, I feel you on that…at least with the Vulpera constantly getting some kind of screen time, it’s feeling rather probable for them.

However, I’m starting to feel unsure about anything positive on the alliance side of things. At this point, I’m bracing for more disappointment ^^;

I’m still hoping but…I guess we’ll find out sooner or later, huh?

It baffles me that after all the hype they made about Allied Races being such a big feature of BFA and we don’t even know if they have races planned after Zandalari and Kul Tirans or even a hint at what those races might be.

Not to mention the fact that it’s takin’ so long for two of the flagship races to be unlocked.

If I was in charge, I be all over telling players “These races will be patch X, followed by these races in patch Y.” Give the players something to look forward to each patch.

I’m of the opinion that once ZT and Kultaras are finally released that it’s the end of additional allied races for this expansion.

That is the feeling I am getting as well. I feel pretty let down overall by allied races.

I think that may be the case as well. I hope they let us know soon though, not knowing when/if they’ll be added, to which faction, and what classes they’d have is really inconvenient. I’d like to start leveling a mage, but don’t know if they’ll have those as a a class option. It also sucks having to wait for (probably 12-18) months until they’re added to be able to level up a new character; I’d like to level one now, but doing so knowing that I’ll race change it later (like a few of my existing alts) just feels silly.

With all the work that’s gone into their models and animations though, running around as one in-game already feels indistinguishable from current playable races… So if they don’t plan to add them, then they’ve really shot themselves in the foot by making them so damn good. Someone is going to want to play as them badly enough to eventually fire up a BfA private server, and adding them as a playable race there would be almost effortless. Given the amount of artists, worldbuilders, and money thrown at commissions within the furry fandom, I can see a lot of voluntary and financial support arising. It’s a very possible outcome which I’d prefer not to happen.

Maybe next expansion. However, I think overall allied races are panning out to be a back to the drawing board boys. A lot of work, kinda meh.

I’m starting to think Blizzard underestimated how much work would need to go into these races, especially with all the other fires they have to put out.

Might be why they’re staggering it, also to spread content out and cover up the lack of content.

or they’re REALLY trying to cover up the ‘oopsies’ they made when so much was datamined on the vulpera and the sethrak early on.

I mean…it almost makes sense that they’d a total 180 when they realized they were THAT close to letting the cat out of the bag. The only option? complete silence and 0 news on anything AR related so they don’t make that mistake again.

Maybe it’s just wishful thinking but it’s like…your parents hiding your Christmas presents and they catch you opening the one spot where it was located, just to end up taking them all and putting them in a completely different house until Christmas morning.

Maybe that’s a bad comparison but I almost feel like it might be a good possibility? I’m being hopeful lol

Blizzard has “Oopsies” everywhere, the Overwatch scandal being covered up by another scandal, Now they’re dealing with a former employee suing them for discrimination, and they’re still trying to cover the disastrous Diablo debacle as well as dealing with the backlash of HoTS players for screwing up their competetive scene.

It’s really so weird that THE expansion’s allied races are going to only become playable like 6-7 months after launch. It’s kinda crazy.

The Vulpera are fuzzy plush toys that need to be sold as toys not used as another racial…JMO ~

Nah, there will be more allied races.

If the ones we got are all of them, they’d be better distributed over the expansion’s life cycle.

Plus, Vulpera model is ahead of kul tiran’s in development. Sounds absurd, but it’s true.

Except kul tirans are already on the ptr as a playable race with a release planned and vulpera were never even confirmed.

No way Blizzard put so much effort and resources into a model just to cast it aside for another whole year (or forever).

Blizzard has barely touched on content after 8.1.5. Just wait and see.
