Having to wait over a year for a race you know you want to play sucks. A lot of people wanted to roll a Zandalari for this expansion, but they’ll only be available in the first or second quarter of next year.

Vulpera, even if they were added in 8.2.5, have a far longer wait ahead of them. If they’re as popularly demanded as people insist, I can imagine more than a few players up and quitting until they can come back and play as the race they really want.

Or that’s my guess, anyway.

This would have merit if 99% of the work required to make Vulpera playable weren’t already done in Beta. At this point all they really need to do is flip a proverbial switch. They’d actually lose money for investing that much into their development and then keeping them as an NPC race.

Also Kul Tirans and Zandalari use unique skeletons.

Assuming that absolutely no work has been done on the Vulpera models after Blizzard cracked down on the datamine leaks back in beta, the Vulpera still have a bit of work required before they are playable. Their model is finished but they are still missing many of the seldom seen player only animations associated with some class abilities and movement. That said, the amount of work put into them already is no small investment. It would be really unfortunate to see that work go to waste. They are very close to ready

yea I know, I’m fairly active-ish on the sethrak forum xD; and constantly on the look out for anything new that pops up…though there’s a lot of non-believers because the whole ‘not as much evidence as vulpera’ though the leaks stopped around the same time…people don’t understand that because the leaks/finds stopped earlier in the year, that it doesn’t mean the developers haven’t stopped working on them behind the scenes.

What I don’t understand…is why not at least give a little disclosure on if there’s going to be more story advancement between the two races, we see there’s a little with the vulpera but leaving and ignoring all the questions about furthering development with the Sethrak.

I mean no news is good news but it’s nerve wrecking!

I remember thinking we’d get vulpera around 8.2 or 8.2.5 back in beta, and I still don’t see any reason to think otherwise. They’re staying involved with the story in 8.1, and they’ve been shown as a race that’s found beyond Vol’dun even from the outset.

It wouldn’t really surprise me if gilblins were originally on the drawing board when they were coming up with allied races, but vulpera came along and stole their hearts.

Something I’d love to see, even if it doesn’t lead to more playable races, is the Horde recruiting the Bilge Rats. That way, not only does they get vulpera, but a bunch of other cool “mongrel” races too!

Hmm… well who’s to say we can’t get gilgobbies AND Vulpera too? I think it would make a few happy. Also, didn’t they say no Allied races until 8.2? Meaning we likely will see new ones in 8.2? I hope so. I wish we knew soon what they will be, too, and how many. The anticipation is killing me!

I’d guess they’ll keep to the pattern of introducing the recruitment scenarios in 8.x.5 patches, especially considering how goblin and worgen models were the only features of 8.2.5 they showed off at Blizzcon this year.

As much as I’d like it, I’d be surprised if they gave us two races based on goblins. The story in Nazjatar is more character-driven for Horde as well, meaning we’re not really working with giblins as a race, but as individuals.

Or that’s my take, anyway!
