The simple truth is Blizzard's art department has had had several months now to work on new models. We haven't really seen anything new since well before the beta ended. If they've been working behind closed doors as I suspect, the Sethrak or literally any other idea they have could be ready by now.
EXACTLY! Thank you Eevee! :) Blizz knew they made an oopsie with everyone finding out about the Vulpera and letting so much slip out about them...right at that time was when Sethrak stuff was datamined as well...and since then it stopped almost entirely. They put a tight lock on things so no progress or other insights could be made, leaving us guessing. They already have each AR planned for the expansion, they're likely already completely done as well, they're just waiting until the opportune time to release them. So if the vulpera isn't ready yet and the sethrak are going to be released with them? Guess what, they might be working on building up -reason- for the sethrak to go alliance if that's the case. There's a cause and reason for everything that's happening....getting sick and tired of people assuming it won't happen because of what's happened so far, acting like it's the end of the expansion >.<
As much as I wanted Vulpera on Alliance, it would seem that they just won't be playable at all which is disappointing.
Just saying Eevee, it's wonderful to see another that is so open minded to possibilities and follow reason/logic, instead of insisting off of instance that aren't even complete xD;

This is my lingering hope/thought process as well. I hope we start seeing more Sethrak quest lines in 8.1 and beyond PTR that give them better Alliance ties as we have with the Vulpera.
I guess my biggest worry at this point is if the expansion moves to nagas and old gods it may "miss" the opportunity to capitalize on Voldun races?
I dunno, I'll keep my fingers crossed for 8.2/8.25 Vulpera although it's killing me to have to wait that long when I'm desperate for some excitement/hype and a personal shot in the arm for WoW.

honestly, there's no other races that have been around in the expansion that would make sense to be AR by that time besides these two races. the gnome area, if I remember, isn't opening until 8.2 +? if that's the case...what other AR would we have for 8.2 that would MAKE sense to be ready? I can't think of any that would that have played a large part in the expansion so far or that we've interacted with in decent volume.
I know Alliance don't like being reminded of the whole Horde having more weight with the Sethrek. It's simply because it is currently fact. There have been no other hints or datamining to shift that.
Not saying it isn't possible, because anything can happen in this expansion so, it is definitely possible. But for now we're going off what we know which currently doesn't support it. That can change of course.
It would be very sad if they're stuck as NPCs.
With how this Blizzcon I honestly don't know what to think since they skipped out revealing any more races.

I'm not even 100% convinced the techgnomes are supposed to be an AR. They would either have all their cools tech stuff covered by their equipment or they would hide nearly every gear slot

I...actually never thought of that...that's a very astute observation. unless they make it like the undead where there's rips or tears in the armor to show some of it?
That's the only reason I don't like the undead is because of the bones and ruining the look of the armor xD;
This entire thread must be purged.

If you want to purge all vulpera, the alliance is there waiting for you.

It's not like they haven't made races that hide gear before, half the races can't wear shoes and as you mention the undead are missing several bits and pieces, but the techgnomes would be an order of magnitude above that.
It's not impossible, they could do it. And I think there's a possibility they might, but it would definitely push the boundaries they've set until now.

not just that but it'd really kind of ruin a lot of the aesthetics...I mean unless you want to look plain like that all the time without any armor showing, but yea, you're right. I almost see it as more of the opening towards a possible new class for the next xpac? I dunno...
I just want 8.1 to come out so I can see what leads up to the purging, I don't like the idea but the alliance wouldn't just...do it on a whim, something HAD to have provoked it and THAT is what I'm really curious about.
I think anything other than Vulp and Snakey peeps would cause riots at this point.

I think there's a few left-field options they could do instead that would go MOSTLY unchallenged, even if they are unexpected. Basically anything on this forum that has a megathread has enough following that I think most people would find it understandable. Though I will admit to being disappointed if 8.2 actually is Arrakoa/Ogres.

if you look at the video I posted on a page back, one of the developers on the team says that the AR has to have SOME significance to the story taking place...neither of those races have any footing in this expac, so I think it's safe to say they're not going to happen.
I find it funny that the personal interviews for 'channels' on youtube were more informative than anything that actually happened at blizzcon xD
I feel like Ion all but confirmed Sethrak/Vulpera in one of the recent Q&As when he was talking about allied races and how some might be races we already knew and others had to be invented to be interesting/good for the story. Sounded like he was talking about planned races and the two that were invented for BfA and that SO many people want seem pretty obvious.
Also interesting in one of the latest interviews posted on Wowhead that "player character animations" are a big deal with selecting AR and we all know who has the CUTEST AND BEST sleeping animations ever? :)

If you put your talents and efforts into trying to promote things you love instead of trying to destroy things you hate you would probably accomplish them. You're a dedicated debater and you are good at instilling emotion in others. It's a shame you don't use those talents to do anything other than sabotaging the causes of others.
Your point is noted though, I won't make light of people threatening to quit because they can't stand the idea of somebody playing a Vulpera in the future. I'll just point out that it's childish and shows insecurity.
What about people threatening to quit until they make Vulpera playable though? Like the guy quoted by the person you quoted.
Is that not childish? Is it excused because they agree with you about wanting Vulpera?
While we really didn't get any new information during Blizzcon on allied races, I think it makes a sort of since when you consider that it might have had a number of reasons. Not saying people have to like these reason....though.
May not have wanted to overshadow the Kul'tiran and Zandalari information while also wanting to add more of a lead in with some of the races kind of like how we spent most of the time with the Nightborne/Lightforged/etc long before we actually knew we'd be able to play them. Could also be padding so they have more big news to spread throughout the year/next year.
Wouldn't lose hope, just gotta be patient and wait. I too would have loved at least even some hints/etc but can't change what actually happened.
The childish people in a community do not represent it as a whole, especially if the leaders of said community scorn it. Most of us try hard to keep things civil and ideas shared in a positive fashion.

Anyone who claims to quit because of small things like adding a new race, pathfinder or PVP obviously never intended a long term commitment to the game in the first place the only obvious reason to quit is if they are burned out, moved on, or just don't find the game fun on a personal level anymore everything as is just a poor attempt to use their leaving as a threat because they think Blizzard only panders to them.
