Vulpera Discussion Megathread (Part 1)

I can't believe they didn't announce Vulpera or any other Allied Race. We've known about the fat humans and other trolls for a year now... and they finally give us racial and say they'll be out in 2019? They should have been with launch lol this time gating for everything is horsecrap. What a lackluster BlizzCon. There's nothing to be hyped about any more.

8.2.5 pair: vulpera and junknomes for sure.

Please! NO!
This would be like offering a hamburger with fries for Horde and puke for the alliance!!!

Mecha/Junkegnomes do not even compare with vulperas!
Why does it seem that whenever people want to always push the most disgusting and most discouraging to the alliance?

I know that Vulperas may occur but, it is terrible other people imagine that a mechanical version of gnome is something that can equate vulperas in some way, because for me, this would be an absolute demonstration of how much devs are disconnected from the playerbase!

I don't think they would pair Vulp with Junk gnomes because they make no sense as a pairing.

like you can argue that all the pairings make sense
Void Elf and Nightborne are a pair cause of the model swap + both elves
HMT and LFD make a pair because they are related to Tauren and Draenei

DID and Zandalari troll didn't make sense as a pair, but Mag'har did - because they were both older races that have been in the factions for a while.

Zandalari and Kultiran make sense as a pair because they are both new factions wer brefriend
the weakest one is the void elf and nightborne

Vulpera and Sethrak? Shared history but polar opposite life style and ideals. Plus sharing the goblin and worgen rigs, makes that pairing even stronger in my mind.
Nope, no Vulpera! Doesn't matter how many threads (see "flying" and "high elves" for reference) won't force them to make them a playable race

Flying is a very bad example... or do you have a bad memory?

Yes, they put more restrictions on it, but we still GET it. (Eventually)

A plausible theory has been proposed by the caravan, we might have the worgen rework and danger noodles to blame
I think it may be time to suspend my account until playable Vulpera are announced.

I am bored to death of WoW as it currently stands and feel that I have nothing to look forward to. World Quests are just mind numbing at this point.

I just resubbed FFXI, and frankly, it's a lot more fun than WoW right now.
K i posted this on the Sethrak Megathread so ill post it here too to help people with Junkergnomes not being released with Vulpera i came across over WoWs history

Honestly if they're making a brand new fish species then making it playable why not just backroll to the Jinyu and then give Horde a preexisting race.

Only reason i could see them making this a new race to be playable is because of the Vulpera, Blizzard while making dumb decisions at times follows a pattern when it comes to new races i noticed when it comes to releasing races.

Blood Elves - Draenei = preexisting race
Goblins - Worgen = preexisting race
Pandaren went both ways anyway
Highmountain - Lightforged = alternate race
Mag'har - Dark Irons = preexisting subrace
Void Elves - Nightborne = subrace
Kul'tirans - Zandalari = subraces, this is stretching it given Kul'tirans are somewhat new and almost break the pattern

Now if we apply this to now

Vulpera - Sethrak = new races
Vulpera - Cyborg Gnomes = breaks the pattern cause its a new race + alternate race
Vulpera - Jinyu Replacements = technical new races pattern and stops Sethrak or gives them to Horde later

See how that works? they follow a strict pattern which is strangely weird for Blizzard given there love for Horde content.

Bonus examples cause i love ya'll :D

Ogres - Vrykul = preexisting ancestor races of the two main races
Quillboars - Gnolls = preexisting race combo
Hozen - Jinyu = preexisting race
Dragonmaw Orc - Wildhammer Dwarf = preexisting subrace
i want vulpera on the alliance, and leper gnomes on the horde, plain and simple. i know the alliance has been massacre-ing the vulpera, but the horde pretty-much did the same for nightborne, so i don't see that as too big of a problem. plus, i'd love if both factions shared the skeletons for the 'little guys'.. i mean, vulpera woulda be a good semi-fix for the tail-less worgen (cause they got big ol' fluffy tails).

I don't want to push anything. I have no interest in junker gnomes at all, and, if it were up to my tastes, I'd like high elves and broken. I'm just analyzing the most likely candidates.

Why junknomes? Because there are a lot of signs pointing to them since alpha was first datamined. Beyond the junk gnome town in Tiragarde, there were datamined elements: a pet, an island expedition themed around them, and other references in the files.

We know that the models available for allied races on Alliance are gnomes, worgen and maybe pandaren. Or another swap with the Horde, so Alliance could get undead (goblin is already taken by vulpera).

Junknomes are now confirmed to have a small zone and a megadungeon about them. Plenty of opportunity to properly develop them and make them interesting.

They have more chance of being next Alliance race than sethrak, for instance. Sethrak story was finished with almost no Alliance participation, they have no proper player-ready model, unlike the vulpera.

So, yeah, I'd say junker gnomes chances are high.

Umm...what?

Unintentional interference of worgen and danger noddles! I swear for Goldrinn!
No Vulpera ??

SERIOUSLY, how disappointing !

Come on Blizzard, you guys can do better than just recycle already existing races such as humans and Trolls.... OH I know, let's use already existing races (for many many years) and just make them a BIT different, how original....

I was actually getting excited and HOPING for Vulpera/Seth'Rak as new playable races but no....... Friggin Humans and more trolls with cultural appropriation and accents from Wakanda...

I'm a human in real life, I don't want to play a (human), what's the point ? Try something new, it's a game, here's your chance !

SO on that, it's EXTREMELY disappointing/frustrating and a total letdown imo !

AS for the incoming Worgen race modifications/edits, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure they have TAILS, as they should have had from the very start ! They're pretty much (werewolves), and to my knowledge Werewolves have tails, as do dogs(and Wolves) so please make that needed correction, thx !

I will conclude with this: MAKE the VULPERA a PLAYABLE RACE SOON PLEASE !

Thx !

I think the fact they only talked about the ones we already know coming over the ones we aren't certain on is what ticked me off.

They're also neutral between factions if I understood correctly, so this doesn't immediately mean it's going to be an allied race...and even if it were, it'd be later in the expansion or towards the end, not immediately in 8.2

They have more chance of being next Alliance race than sethrak, for instance. Sethrak story was finished with almost no Alliance participation

Yea...in -8.0-...seriously, why does everyone use this as validation? The expansion is FAR from over with so many possiblities open in terms of furthering the sethrak with the alliance. It's even said at the end, that they look forward to working with alliance again in the future.

they have no proper player-ready model, unlike the vulpera.

not true, in fact Sethrak have many similarities that the vulpera have: such as removable armor, a female model (found in Sethraliss), an Azerite holding animation, USING the heart of azeroth animation, cape animations AND tabard usage, many other animations that they said in an interview take a LOT of time and heavily considerable for making an allied race. There are so many things that show they are more player ready than you think. Do your research before answering like it's fact ;P

I'll leave these here:

If you put your talents and efforts into trying to promote things you love instead of trying to destroy things you hate you would probably accomplish them. You're a dedicated debater and you are good at instilling emotion in others. It's a shame you don't use those talents to do anything other than sabotaging the causes of others.

Your point is noted though, I won't make light of people threatening to quit because they can't stand the idea of somebody playing a Vulpera in the future. I'll just point out that it's childish and shows insecurity.
The simple truth is Blizzard's art department has had had several months now to work on new models. We haven't really seen anything new since well before the beta ended. If they've been working behind closed doors as I suspect, the Sethrak or literally any other idea they have could be ready by now.

Yes the Sethrak model we see is nowhere near done, but I don't think the character modelers are just taking a vacation. They must have been working on something all this time. It's just a matter of what.
