You had worgen for years though. Why should alliance get the wolves and the foxes? :P
And worgen have been treated like the redheaded step child ever since. the original models got canned so we got angry giant chihuahua faces, and the updated models have been on the back burner for years.
Also no tails.
I will admit though, bellular's recent video where he said he hopes the vulpera are neutral was nice... but like I've said before, based off what I've seen on the PTR, the alliance goes into vol'dun with less tact than the imperium of man does when it goes in to clear out a genestealer cult. It ain't happening, and it pisses me off to no end that Gears "sue the pants off the fans" workshop can write better shades of gray than blizzard... then again I guess everything is a shade of gray when you're dealing with grimdark.
I must say at the start I was opposed to them but after checking out some pics of them they are hella cute
I want to see Vulpera as a neutral allied race.
Blizzard needs to can this alliance - kill-the-vulpera garbage.
Yes, I want furry. Yes, I want furry available to all.
Really tired of seeing horde get all the nice things. Developers love horde and horde is why alliance can't have nice things.
Hey was still get a group of cuties in the form of the sneks! Little tongue flicks and a nice scally tail is just as good as big ears and a fuzzy tail!

There’s no shades of grey with 40k! Everything is red with the SPILLED BLOOD OF MY ENEMIES!! >:D

Welcome to the fold, here you complimentary shirt, hat, drink cup and a I heart vulpera wristband.

Unfortunately the sethrak thread hardly sees as much use. I'm just as enthusiastic but people feel there's little seen as them becoming allied race. I really have high hopes with how much work and effort Blizz has put into them: capes, heart of azeroth stance, animations, removeable armor, etc etc.
Though I keep seeing everyone going 'nope, you're getting mechagnomes/junker gnomes.' I've not even heard nor seen ANYthing about them and it's honestly getting annoying xD
I feel confident that the next allied races will be Vulpera and the Sethrak, horde/alliance in correspondence. I know the Sethrak have little to do with the alliance for now, but I REALLY feel that things will really develop with them and we'll get a tighter bond with them as well.
Though...I'm curious what the reasoning is behind this purge...there has to be some kind of reasoning behind it, some event that triggered that wasn't shown in the PTR, any good writer (yea, I know about their writing) wouldn't just leap into something that has no connections to an already existing event: because of THIS we had no choice but to do THAT.
What I DON'T understand though, is why keep it secret? I think silence is golden in this case, that neither one has been shut down and the fact that they've been showing off models since last year's blizz con (at least of the sethrak)...I almost feel like the vulpera 'leak' in datamining was intentional to build this kind of hype.
Long story short...here's to hoping they announce some kind of good news for both the Vulpera and Sethrak this weekend <3
They're keeping it tight lipped because Blizz likes their big reveals. They messed up with the Vulpera early on in the beta datamining and then rushed to encrypt all the other mentions of allied races.
Guess I will say it here as well. Vulpera are not an Allied race. They do not fit the mold of an Allied race. Not related to any existing game races. That doesn't however mean that the Vulpera can't simply be a new playable race. Maybe even one that is Neutral.
Blizzard, doesn't have anything in the tank that can soften the blow the Vulpera are going to do to the already bad faction imbalance if they are just a Horde race. For me the more I sit and think about it I just don't think there is anything in all of Azeroth that could hold a candle to Vulpera as a playable Alliance race if Vulpera are indeed Horde.
Maybe Blizzard did realize just this and has decided to not make Vulpera playable after all. We will find out I am sure in just a few days and then everyone can start with their I told you so comments!

Not happening fam; they’re gonna be Horde only. Best to not get your hopes up.
Guys, new ptr info is up on MMO champ as of right now, and I found something fairly relevant that piqued my interest.
Now naturally, they usually update more info throughout the day, stuff is subject to change, and we all know that in the game of reading tea leaves sometimes it can be easy to get carried away and misread things-- but they can still be interesting to discuss/think about.
Since I'm way into mounts, I scrolled down until it got to the part that talks about them. It specifically mentions six mounts, three that can fly, and three that cannot. Please bear with me a minute as I go down the list--I promise its relevant.
The ones that can fly, are as follows:
'Dazar'alor Windreaver' which was renamed from Armored Skyterror. Its gonna be the 'glory of the Daza raider' achievement mount.
"Glacial Tidestorm' which is gonna be a mount that Jaina can drop on Mythic setting, not unlike Gul'dan and his infernal in the Nighthold. I'm relieved to point out that judging by the wording on the flavor text, that she survives the fight. "Though she commands a variety of magical powers, Jaina has always been most proficient at summoning powerful elementals of water and ice."
'Siltwing Albatross' (This is where things get a little interesting and we get a peek into things beyond Daza-ville.) "One of the rarest of birds seen on the islands of the Great Sea, and a prized possession amongst traders, if they can capture it." Source: Vendor: Captain Klarisa Zone: Tiragarde Sound Cost: 1,000[INV_Misc_AzsharaCoin.BLP] Vendor: Captain Zen'taga Zone: Zuldazar Cost: 1,000[INV_Misc_AzsharaCoin.BLP]
So we see that not only is it a vendor mount, but it uses a currency from something linked to Azshara, and both H and A can get it. Sounds cool :)
Now we come to the mounts that are ground only.
The first is called a 'GMOD', renamed from 'Gilded Edition GMOD' which by the description sounds like a tarted up golden goblin mech, which links back to the fight that happens with Mekkatorque.
HERE is where we end up though. Hold onto your hats.
The last two.
"Azureshell Krolusk" and "Rubyshell Krolusk"
Flavor text on them both is the same. "Captured from the desolate sands of Vol'dun, this mount is surprisingly docile in captivity."
They are both vendor mounts! They come from (For Alliance) Provisioner Stoutforge Zone: Tiragarde Sound, and (For Horde) Provisioner Mukra Zone: Zuldazar.
And the cost? Is... 'Cost: 200[INV_AllianceWarEffort.BLP]', and 'Cost: 200[INV_HordeWarEffort.BLP]'.
So this implies that its not from one of the reps/currencies we have now (unless they change it of course), but that it IS linked to the war effort on either side.
Now its completely plausible that they just felt like letting us work toward getting these interesting mounts for fun since they made the models already, and decided to give us red and blue ones to make it faction-y.
BUT!
When you look at it in context, where all of the other mounts are from the future raid, and the future content, it looks as though this could easily be a big big krolusk-sized hint that both factions are gonna be busy in Vol'dun in the future.
Moonguard is gonna have a field day if you put them together...
I like how everybody is already on the same page though RE: Moonguard.
...
I think it's time for brutal honesty:
The narrative isn't going to be dropped; the Vulpera were always meant for the Horde and only the Horde, right from the very beginning.
It's crystal clear at this point that the Alliance is not getting Vulpera, so continuing to stay hopeful for it is an utterly futile endeavor.
Yeah, didn't Blizz say that making Pandaren neutral was a mistake and didn't want to do that neutral stuff again? I don't know where I heard it, but... I feel the purge squads are a big flag of, "NO ALLIANCE." Here's hoping you guys get Sethrak then?
Sethrak would be nice, but at the same time I'm not getting my hopes up too high for them. I know that things can change, but with the way they've been written the Horde has a
much better rapport with them -- most significantly, having canonically resurrected their Loa and defeated Mythrax. I feel like if they were going to be Alliance all those aforementioned achievements would've been ours, and they'd already be butting heads with the Horde. Plus they have no female model, which is a
huge strike against them becoming playable.
Junker gnomes just seem much more likely to me -- I've read all the speculation around them and sadly it makes perfect sense.
*sigh*
Plus they have no female model, which is a huge strike against them becoming playable.
Sethraliss is female.
Male and female snakes generally have very little difference between them.
Vulpera are so gonna happen. They didn't make those adorable alpaca models for nothing.

That's the only way I can see it work with differences in colors and maybe females having horns or a spike aside from voice of course.

you say much better rapport, in 8.0...it's the beginning of the game and the business we're going to be dealing with the Sethrak and the Vulpera. We don't know what 8.1 will bring and who knows what direction it will take us. So don't get your hopes up! Let's not forget, either, Sethraliss is a female and has a model APART from the males...it's more difficult to distinguish but isn't that the case in snakes? wowhead has a good view at the differences,https://www.wowhead.com/sethrak-race-in-voldun#the-female-model , even if they're only subtle, but I feel the big differences will be in cosmetics and what can be applied to male vs female.
Junker gnomes have next to no info on them...people are saying that left and right...based off of what? the gnome in the raid? Ok? big whoop~...imho if junker gnome will be a thing, it will be at the end of the expansion OR the beginning of the next one (with a class like Tinkerer~).
Time will tell~ :P

There's only one maybe two implications of them. A gnome in Kul tiras off by the hot springs resort that gives you a sidequest and states that there used to be a large population of gnomes in kul tiras but that they all disappeared, and then there's the scrap heap with a sealed vault door into the mountain side (which I honestly thought was more a nod towards the fallout franchise than an implication towards junker gnomes TBQH)

which, in my mind, is far too little to go off of with the NEXT allied race...will it become one? sure, perhaps, but it'd need far more exposure in the game and relevance to become a legit concept. I just feel like there's far too little for it to be brushed off as known fact...Maybe we'll find out more with them in the next patch as well?
The whole Junker Gnomes rumor also started with an alleged leak. 8.1 also been setting things up and throwing hints.
Keep in mind, Blizzard might show 8.3 allied races along with 8.2.
Anyway, thinking about vulpira hunter, I'm wondering what their starter pet will be. Be funny if it is a fox, but more likely a krollusk... Or llama!

I want it to be a llama...just because that'd be hilarious xD
if it is...I so hope someone names it Carl...
Caaaaaaaarrlll~ (points to anyone who gets the reference)
Does anyone else suspect that ancient Vulpera might be the race that Mimiron experimented on with Kajamite to create the Goblins?
