Vote to kick exploitation

Why did you kick this person?

It was years ago when I was booting a bad hunter. Group knew why though.

Oh this is juju, I forgot why I hopped on the hunter. Probably a transmog thing.

And this is the point I was going to make.

The dude was being a jerk so the group didnā€™t need to read the reason because they knew. I donā€™t think thatā€™s proof that people donā€™t read.

Not always the case though. I read the reason when itā€™s not obvious. Itā€™s not always gibberish though.

No, of course not. Iā€™m more than sure some vote kicks happen with the group not reading the reason why.

Iā€™m just saying that if someone is being bad enough, the reason why is irrelevant. The group knows why. Like, the people that claim they were kicked for ā€œtacos.ā€ Itā€™s like, ok where you really kicked for that or was the group just fed up with you and put a funny reason why?

You inadvertently invented an awesome feature. Yes, this would be sick actually. Like a long-running dungeon/questline that people can join whenever. I think Rift does this.

Iā€™ve never been vote kicked but there sure been alot of attempts at others in my group saying afk when I see the dude moving towards us or other odd reasons. I just click no everytime. And This dudes comments are flagged and got no clue why. Are you really flagging shill?

Huh no. Do you realize this is why they made the dungeon deserter buff trigger after the first boss when for years it wasnā€™t like that?

I guess there was a trinket that dropped for tanks on the first boss of Dawnbreaker. The original tank would kill the boss then leave then tanks that came in afterwards had no desire to stay. The groups didnā€™t moveā€¦

I have absolutely been present for vote kicks that were nonsense and people going along with the crowd. They happen. But I havenā€™t seen it in years, and I refuse to believe it is

Abuse happens, itā€™s not unheard of. But itā€™s not rampant by any means and I feel like the abusive kicks happen way less now than ten years ago, like when it was possible for a prima donna tank or healer to hold a group hostage until they did what the prima donna wanted.

As others have pointed out earlier, what remains isnā€™t easily solvable because you can only police human behavior so far. Sooner or later, you just get groups of jerks. If you find kicks happening for ā€˜abusive reasonsā€™ all the time, then I think you need to find a new common denominator.

This post reads as you throwing a tantrum because you were vote kicked.

You clearly are doing something wrong.

It was the sac brood trinket in ara kara

exactly what I saidā€¦

and?
I saw so many bogus kicks when I healed a lot more that it made me quit healing for the malcontents.

Soā€¦WHOSE experience takes precedence here?

The social contract means they canā€™t use language that includes profanity, masked profanity, slurs, insults, etc.

It does NOT mean someone has to play with someone they donā€™t want to be with. Using the KICK function has nothing to do with the Social Contract.

But you know all that.

Really? I could have sworn it was Dawnbreaker and people leaving after the first boss is why the moved the dungeon deserter debuff back to the first boss.

yeah that sounds about right.

Ive seen a long list of them, the best being when the person has done nothing warranting a kick and the reason is some racist, bigoted, phobic garbage that has nothing to do with the game.

I love the "i dont see any kicksā€™ jokers who compulsively fill these threads
They dont see any kicksā€¦but say it needs to be more limited and then, holy geezus, theyā€™ll need to be able to kick 1000 times a dayā€¦you knowā€¦just in caseā€¦even though theyve only seen ONE kick in 15 yearsā€¦lmao

Yeah sacbrood drops off of the first boss in ara kara and was bis for everyone.

So people would Que up kill the first boss and leave.

It was faster to do that if you had a tank friend and you both qued together over and over.

I could make an argument they donā€™t.

Ty for the clarification.

I vote no on the vote-kick attempts that do occur unless I really think the player in question is impeding our progress significantly. And ā€˜doing a dungeon closer to normal speed than blitz speedā€™ doesnā€™t count.

Iā€™m not for kicking more people. Iā€™m just not seeing the behavior where this is an epidemic, and in the absence of any kind of evidence, all I can draw on is my personal experience.
