This should not place a 30 minute cooldown on the person being kicked.
It’s insane enough that elitists vote kick over ilvl, let alone the person being forced a deserter buff upon them so they can’t requeue. This is borderline griefing. 4k is sufficient to run gammas, and just because people want to rush rush rush, doesn’t mean that they should be forced to sit for that long. Hell I was 4.4 when it happened to me, and I’ve had a few guildies experience this too ever since the feature came out.
I know the cooldown was added because people would attempt to get themselves kicked from runs they didnt want by causing mass wipes, but there has to be some solution here. Monitor the people who initiate the most vote kicks, and if they continually occur at the start of a dungeon, give those players a temp ban.
People RAILED to get RDF … so Blizz gives them RDF because they weren’t getting invites …
Now we have RDF and they expect people to be forced to have them in their groups …
Only reasonable solution I see is to treat anything above heroic as they do mythics in retail.
Let people queue for normal heroics and below and then they’ll have to form their own groups for anything above heroic - which (yes) you’ll have to run your happy bottom there and summon etc.
The anti-RDFers are queuing with 3-4 man groups in order to kick randoms and discredit RDF. It’s nothing but a trolling campaign. Some have even admitted to this on the forums. Not allowing vote kicks for the first 15 minutes will solve all of this, just like it did in OG Wrath.
What can you do, if a healer or tank joins the group, but is afk for more than 3 minutes since the group was formed? Since they have other things to do, its better to replace them. Without the deserter buff, it is not unlikely that players will start to afk dungeons, that they do not like to get kicked. This way they could instanlty requeue and have another chance for a better dungeon.
To avoid this toxic behaviour, the deserter buff is needed.
Your suggestion of temp banning players who initiate kicks early is unreasonable, because players would be afraid of vote-kicking said afkers, which the vote option was made for in the first place. I doubt Blizzard could differentiate between different reasons for kicking. They cannot even make RDF work as well as it did late 2009.
The reason the 30 minute CD exists is so people can’t coerce others into kicking them when they get a dungeon they dislike. People used to just AFK at the start of Occulus until they were kicked so they could requeue for another chance at a dungeon they like.
You could always form your other group if you dislike the fact that you can be kicked from RDF made groups.
How many people have? And how do you know they’re telling the truth?
It’s a conspiracy. You’re attempting to shift the faults of RDF onto this phantom anti-RDF troll campaign. That’s about as conspiratorial as you can get.
The reality is RDF is simply not the perfect system people made it out to be.
We never claimed RDF was a perfect system, only that it was better than LFG. It still is.
People are gleefully reporting that they are queuing in 3-4 man groups in order to vote kick randoms. Considering how toxic anti-RDFers are, I’m taking them at their word.
Well then let’s be more honest about its shortcomings instead of blaming phantom forces and made up troll campaigns.
Yes because people never lie on the internet. You simply believe whatever narrative minimizes the shortcomings of RDF. I also asked how many people have reported this? Is it what, like four people? And that accounts for all the people complaining about being kicked?
When we see this same thing happening constantly on retail for the last… 10+ years is that also the fault of the anti-RDF troll campaign?
I’ve never seen this behavior on Retail, going all the way back to original Wrath. People only got kicked if they were AFK or rolling need on gear that wasn’t for their class/spec.
Well this is just not true. People get kicked for all sorts of reasons on retail. They’ve even made support articles about it. That’ just the nature of RDF. This is part of what you asked for.
Only in the wow community can you find newer players trying to gear their toons asking not to get kicked at the start of a dungeon the game lets them queue and incur a 30 min wait as a result to be a controversial opinion lol
Like none of my characters are < 5.3k and the toxicity is still nuts to me. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone new
