I agree. But people want power over others. That why they are defending the kick system. They want power to throw debuffs on others with little effort.
Agreed. When you say little effort, you really mean it too. A simple click of a button. It’s unreal.
They gotta get their dopamine from somewhere.
i personally think a better system would be to leave the vote kick system in place but just remove the leaver penalty from it then the person who got kicked can just reque for a different group and maybe who knows have fun without having to wait 30 minutes. As it is now if your a dps class you not only have to wait 30 minutes for the debuff to go away but you also have to wait through the long que time
They now get it from push vote kick on repeat then type in nonsense. And waits for 4 others to mindlessly click yes then they are out.
They get it now by watching the kicked person get a 30 minute timer. They defend their drug cause it gives them a high for griefing others. They get the good dopamine from the power they can just slam 30 minute timer on someone with a push of a button.
I personally agree. If not that, then at least have the consequence of the leaver penalty be in a escalation format. Those who deserve it will still receive the punishments that are intended, and those who don’t deserve it won’t have to suffer.
can anyone even tell me why the leaver penalty was attached to the vote kick system? As i remember it didn’t used to be like that. I remember getting kicked from a group years ago back in wrath when I was a noob leveling this lock when i first started the game and not getting a penalty so when did it change?
Someone in another thread said that recently Blizzard made adjustments to all of this stuff. It would make sense given that recently we’ve seen a lot of scummy behavior in regard to people getting vote kicked.
It’s sad that people cannot act like decent human beings. Here we are in 2024 talking about human toxicity.
The fact they have mentioned they carry multiple times on a video game forum without any reason to is actually pathetic and sad.
I personally don’t see many kicks from groups happen. The few that I’ve seen have been completely justified.
A shadow priest that kept pulling mobs over the tank, resulting in multiple party deaths and was asked twice in chat to stop pulling for the tank. Third time, he was kicked.
A healer who…isn’t healing, damage meters ‘healing done’ posted in chat as proof that DPS classes self healing skills were higher numbers than the dedicated healer that just joined up as healer apparently for the fast queue.
Someone who joins the group and just sits at the front enterance to leech XP/Rep off the rest of the group’s work (timewalking dungeons spring to mind here).
The point is, there are five people in a group…the majority have to agree you’re a bad fit for the group for whatever reason for the kick to be successful… and they have to be willing to gamble being able to replace you with the queue (DPS easily, healer or tank…more risky) so if you’re kicked you might need to reflect on your own game play to determine why you were singled out in the first place.
I do agree that the deserter debuff has no place being applied when someone is unceremoniously yeeted from a group against their will. That just kind of adds insult to injury, particularly to the casual player who might not have the best gear, only a limited window of play time, and because of this a higher likelyhood of being targeted by elitists because their numbers aren’t crunching high enough to their liking.
It’s always been an issue, but it’s been amplified recently.
yeah…it is…on ANY level…but they prove who they are all the time on this forum lmao.
The game community would be better off without that sort.
It was added to vote kick in Wrath when the Oculus dungeon issues occurred.
People, like tanks and heals, would literally hold a group hostage and sit an entrance because they didn’t want to do that specific dungeon. But if they left on their own they would get the debuff, so they forced a vote kick on them to leave the dungeon without getting the debuff. So Blizzard added the debuff to vote kicks to combat that.
Recently the debuff was applied to leaving/getting kicked at any point in the entire dungeon, used to able to leave after the first boss went down without getting the debuff, due to the ara kara trinket issues.
looks like I called it, lmao…same old group doing their thing…pathetic lol
and are clearly open to good suggestions…and so we have to keep tossing out ideas to limit the abuse of players by these jokers with bogus vote kicks
As you can see, this system has historically presented many issues and flaws in the game. Recently, their ‘fix’ has caused more problems, as people can now effortlessly move their mouse and click a button to remove someone from a dungeon, resulting in a 30-minute penalty. This 30-minute debuff is a ridiculous punishment, especially for casual content. The fact that this punishment exists for random, casual dungeon runs and not for Mythic+ is mind-boggling.
I mean, these forums asked for that change. There were so many threads asking Blizzard to deal with the ara kara leavers. So people got want they wanted.
just an admission they KNOW they are abusing other players with kicks and scapegoating blizzards lazy hands-off policy in the matter.
NO ONE defends this crap unless they KNOW they are abusing others with it.
I DONT abuse others with bogus kicks and so Im NOT offended or upset when this comes up.
IF they werent they wouldnt feel PERSONALLY attacked every time this topic comes up. lmao
THEY KNOW they are abusing others with it and THATS why they get so defensive
So the logic behind adding a timer to leaving dungeons is because tanks would sit at the front of the dungeon and wait to get vote kicked?
I mean, what’s so hard about just vote kicking someone who is going to act like that? Why punish everyone else getting vote kicked because a few tanks wanted to throw a tantrum?
Point and click and remove and place 30 minutes. How to put a debuff on someone in 1,2,3,and 4.
I’d love to see some kind of penalty added to people who drop group from a M+ key when it can still be timed after a wipe or even someone dying in general
