You’re purely talking about PvE, but yeah. You also have one of the best tanking racials in the game.
Void elves have a teleport and a passive DPS trinket that you can line up with your CDs as well.
Yeah and but they’ve been nerfed multiple times.

Don’t worry. I like you guys. You’re honorary high elves in my heart.
These are the only issues I have with Void Elves. None are dealbreakers. My warlock is a Velf.
Lazy background. Blizzard could have had the Velves be the remaining High Elves in diaspora, since allied races are supposed to be a small subset, and have those High Elves become Velves. This would have given Void Elves lore weight. Instead, we get exiled Blood Elves for no reason. This comes out of the blue and makes no sense given Blood Elves are all about toying with dangerous powers.
Yet another blue elf/race. It would have been nice to have a different color palette. Void Elves just add to the ubiquitousness of blue-skinned Alliance characters. The way I would have solved this was to give the Void Elves the “worgen” treatment — a regular elf form that converts to a void form at will or in combat. That would have given Void Elves something interesting to do visually. The regular form would still have the Velf eyes and a limited cool color palette skin and platinum, Auburn and black hair (no red).
That said, we can note that there are High Elves in that Void Elf specific zone. It is absolutely plausible to consider your Velf a High Elf who got wrapped up in Umbria’s followers’ experiments.
I used PvE examples, but translates to PvP as well: Shadowmeld to dodge Rezan greater pyro, Fireblood to counter dot classes.
Questionable. We have better racials to soak damage: Brush it off, Quickness, Stoneform and Forged in Flames.
However the Horde has better utility to prevent said damage: Bull Rush, Arcane Torrent and War Stomp.
Again, potentially. If you get cc’d during the setup or the boss decided to throw bad to your rift’s position you just wasted a 3 min cd. Rocket Jump and Bull Rush are easier to use for repositioning, and in a shorter cd too.
Which we have no control over. Popping cds because a passive trinket proc’d instead of waiting for the burst window is not a good idea.
This, all day long
Yeah, which are pretty insane. A knock back stun as well.
Which for the horde most those are useless on boss encounters for raiding where as the alliance racials are useful for everything.
Yeah they kinda missed a HUGE obvious opportunity with 8.3 and N’zoth now that I think about it with the Void elves…
Edit: unless it’s future foreshadowing they didn’t do anything with Anduin being Void sensitive either.
I think the reason they want to be high elves, is that so they can just be humans without being judged.
After all, blood elves are just humans with glowy eyes!
Two years ago I argued that void elves belong in the Horde. Beside, the Horde is no place for an elf.
But you really can, it was the whole justification the devs gave for allowing us players to choose customization options that would typically belong to members of our race who might’ve made different choices than the ones from our faction. That they believe the the players should have a choice to reflect those many possibilities within their selected race by making these customizations available.
Do you want to play a High elf who for some reason decided to join the Horde? That’s fine, here’s your option to reflect that theme visually. I’m glad that blue eyes are finally coming to Blood elves.
We think very alike, kinsman.
Don’t worry about them, they’ll tucker themselves out eventually here after all this stamping and screaming~
Same 5 dudes on a crusade.
Thank you, dear human friend. You, Stormwind folks are cooler than those bigots from former Lordaeron.
Sounds about right. I could count on one hand the number of pro high elf threads I’ve seen since yesterday. Meanwhile the rest of the forums are busy making threads to rub their noses in it, before blue eyes have actually been confirmed for players yet.
I say if Blood Elves get blue eye options then Void Elves should get green eye options. It’s only fair.
It has to do with Void Elves being a garbage race pulled out of someones butt.
Don’t you know the official Alliance motto is “You’ll never be good enough to make all of us happy”?
You can apply this is just about everything.
Nope but thanks for informing me though
