Void elves and blood elves need more visual distinction

Last time I checked it’s not trolling to point out that Void Elves getting shared customizations from Blood Elves has ruined the uniqueness between Blood Elves and Void Elves and that it’s a perfectly valid request to want uniqueness restored so that both can have their own stuff which is exactly what this thread is about.

I mean I know you and people like you want everything to be copy/paste like 100% but if you would actually think about it for more than a moment you’d realize that if Blizzard wanted Alliance to have actual High Elves they would of given them to you like they did the Horde but they didn’t, they gave you Void Elves so the only ones trolling, spamming, etc. are people like you still asking for stuff.

As are most Horde races. Very libertarian.

In case you didn’t notice, I’m playing a guy. I’m more into that inverted triangle look. And each faction got the allied race that made sense at the time. Most of them at least. The void elves being the real outlier here. And to a lesser extent the nightbourne. And I would happily give up the nightbourne if it means void elves don’t exist.

Lets be real here, I think most Horde players would give up Nightborne for that given we got a botched model that doesn’t look like NPC Nightborne or Night Elves so we are just stuck with an awful model with absolutely terrible customizations that basically no one wants to play and that’s even after the new customizations pass because it’s just not good enough to be like yay we actually have a winning Allied Race.

Which group? I do not associate myself with anyone.
And I’m pretty sure the future looks bright for the High Elf-players.

This posting was not really needed…

You are not a High Elf. The Blood Elves have given up on their old identity. A new unearthed Brann Bronzebeard quote confirms this.

Taking a male form in a game doesn’t make you a male in RL. But representing yourself as a male gives you an edge in discussions, which is why I like to this here.

Let’s see and wait how Blizzard continues to solve the AR-problem. People hate on the Alliance and the developers very much (and also well deserved), so I see two possible outcomes: The races will locked into a “model type” situation where you pick your race from a dropdown menu or they make them neutral where everyone can go everywhere.

Keep saying that considering it’s our entire lore, it’s why I can actually look like a real High Elf and someone like you that plays a Void Elf can’t, that’s the difference is all Void Elves have is RPing options to pretend they are High Elves while still actually being Void Elves, I have real customizations because I’m an actual High Elf.

No, you are not (anymore). :woman_shrugging: I would have agreed with you before the new official quote but if the Blood Elves really have given up on their identity, then you’re just a blond-haired Blood Elves these days.

This leaves everyone with zero High Elves and 100% High Elf pretenders.

We always were the blonde elves it’s why people like you resented us.

Our whole lore is built on that we are the High Elves renamed Blood Elves but feel free to show me where the entire lore has been rewritten to be where we aren’t, I’ll wait because I know you won’t be able to back that up and before you try to cite somewhere like Reddit I’ll save you the time and say don’t waste your time or mine if that’s all you got.

What’s the source?

I ask cause the only place I’ve seen it is in some random fan video about lore… And it was drawing from non-canon sources like the tabletop rpg so I question its validity in canon.

And it was made available for both sides now.

It’s a video of someone who dug into all the available lore.

Yes, we’re likely speaking of the same video. I asked this before but are we sure now that the source is from the tabletop rpg? Google did not bring anything up but the video was rather well researched.

Difference is mine is actually because I’m a High Elf, Void Elves is for RPing options or rather pretending.

I should of guessed you’d have no official source just fan headcannoning, no shocker there Mr. Goblin.

Some of the lore in that video was.

There wasn’t a source on the brann quote.

It might as well be made up until its source is known. I haven’t been able to find it myself.

Brann is used across a lot of Warcraft franchise and not everything he’s even said in the past is exactly canon. Heck some of his lines in wow are retconned by later information.

I just want to know where that piece of info came from before I even begin to see it as anything worth debating.

Though I’ll tell you right now that I hardly see a dwarf as being a valid source for what blood elves see themselves as in universe. It’d be a lot like Shaw saying blood elves are addicted to fel. He’s an unreliable narrator.

Either way, that’s fine for a simple reason.
The Alliance can pretend to be four races at the same time, thanks to the new flying Blood Elf heritage mount made available to the Alliance.

This is incorrect. We have a source for this quote but not from the actual source material.

My brothers think it is part of the archaeology profession where you can unearth old trash which gives you story tidbits but I haven’t done much of them. Still sitting on “Seeker of Knowledge”, which I will continue to do in DF to level my Panda up from 60 to 70 in Pandaria.

I do agree to some extend but Brann Bronzebeard is one of the more important characters. Maybe it is from the tabletop games after all.

I find it strange when people think they know better than Blizzard.

Alleria didn’t get a model update after consuming the Naaru because she didn’t need one, not because of Blizzard being lazy or forgetful. She never had a reason to be permanently in Void form.

People perhaps confuse a palette swap with a new model? They look at the character and see a different gear on them, like it’s from heroic or mythic.

I’m more so referring to the odd folks that demand Alleria be given a new model to make her no longer have pale skin by giving her a permanent Entropic Embrace form.

It’s purely a request intended to be negative towards Void Elves.

Blizzard needs to be less afraid to be clear and maybe actually talk to us once in awhile.

Implying rather than telling is great, but it leaves holes and openings that I’d personally like filled.

That said they also need to make clear that while there is solid lore in those cases, player choice is always above it for our own toons.

Interesting. I’ll check around those parts as well.

Like I said I can’t find it at all beyond that video so far. Really wish Blizz had someone or someplace we could ask about this stuff and actually get an answer.

I wasn’t aware you could have all the options for customizations I do, I mean last time I checked Void Elves still had greasy hair, bleed blue, glowed blue and couldn’t use the same hairstyles, eye colors and jewelry as I can.

Furthermore, yes anyone can pretend to be whatever they want to be in game like I RP as a Holy Blood Elf Warlock where my fire is holy fire, does that actually make me a Holy Warlock, no because pretending is exactly that pretending.

Until you have an actually 100% ironclad Blizzard based source for this, it’s moot because fan headcannon doesn’t make actual canon.

Plenty of us will continue to advocate for bringing over further Blood Elf customization onto Void Elves as that is what makes logical sense within the confines of the lore.

I wish that would happen. But seems to that not even Blizzard cares much now.

I wouldn’t mind it, she already was in this state before in the Stormwind vision? But it won’t happen for a single reason: Only beautiful characters sell, that’s why could purchase a bikini sylvanas before, which truly grinds my gears as a woman. But things look better now.

It’s true, though. :woman_shrugging: For all the big talks the forums had nobody cared a single moment that the new flying Blood Elf heritage mount, with assets from the armor, has been made available to the other side, which makes not only the Blood Elves fans on the forums look ridiculously oblivious about this glaring issue with even reddit being very sarcastic about the situation and how the 9.2.5 questline was butchered in search for more money.

As long as you do not the infamous Jade Witch RP, you’re good these days.

Sooner or later we will find out about this, after that you’re free to gloat.
