Its almost impossible to tell them apart. Its the same story for widehorn cows and light goats. But at least they are in the same faction so there is no confusion. Anytime I see an alliance wannabe high elf I have to double take. Some would say nightbourne are the same idea but I disagree. Nightbourne looks much more visually distinct then any other “sister” allied race.
They’re the same race.
If void or blood elf decide to have High elf look- they can .
Blood elves have more costumisation options… if they choose- they can look way more differently. If a void elf decide to look more Voidy-they can this either.
Enough .
Btw the void elves have really few hairstyles
It’s a lose-lose situation for Blizz when it comes to Velf/Belf customization. If Blood Elves get anything new, Void Elf players want it and vice vera. If they add more High Elf themed customizaton for Void Elves, Blood Elf players complain. If they don’t, the demand for it to be added won’t stop.
Belfs/Velfs looking identical being a faction problem is kind of a moot point with Pandaren and now Dracthyr existing.
It would have been better but its too late now.
They cant remove options from people.
The best they can do is add more options to allow people to look different.
But they would just be options.
The potential for overlap would still be there.
if they are green they are friends, that’s what i do with pandas. and fully covered elves look like humans
They really should just remove BEs and VEs from the alliance and horde selections and put them under the neutral designation along side pandaren and just lump everything together at this point. You can have two toggles appear on character creation to stick you where you need to go and replace BEs with something good like Ogres or something while tossing the Alliance an allied race akin to the quality of nightborn.
Because you know, people whined about not being able to play elves on the alliance and Blizz caved when the lore literally should have had said elves despise the alliance because an alliance leader legit genocided them while also poisoning their only consistent food supply…
Ehh, Elves are skinnier, stand/move differently, and are surprisingly easy to tell apart in game for me because of that. Instead I have a significantly harder time offhand detecting if they’re an enemy or not even with giant bars because I look at the characters first and need a second or two for my brain to click that it’s a bad guy
As it should be, they’re the same race, like Pandaren or Dracthyr. It’s 2022, not 2006.
yep. giving void elves blood elf customization was a mistake
Void Elves have every Blood Elf skin tone, most of their primary hair colors, and hairstyles that were based on Blood Elf hairstyles with a few exceptions. Blood Elves do not have any of the OP Void Elf tones or hair colors. Void Elves can choose to look different, Blood Elves are pretty much pigeonholed into looking like most Void Elves tbh.
Not only this but void elves have 3 themes to choose from. Void, high, and darkfallen. The fact that void elves have become nothing other than a cloud of elf that Blizzard continues to inject themes into while everybody else gets less effort is really bad.
They are different in combat. Void elves have their void forms, blood elves have no forms in combat
As a VOID elf fan im not huge on this myself.
I feel at this rate we are going to get felbood elf customisation before the void part of void elves gets any more attention from blizzard.
At this point, I’d rather be either iteration of Draenei, but can’t just cause armor looks distortedly stretched on them… (males anyways)
I won’t go down the High Elf argument too much because everyone has different opinions on it. I think Void Elves are just as much High Elves as Blood Elves are, but I think it’s all titles anyways. I’m mostly discussing the disappointment in the lack of visual variety between the two races, not the titles they bear.
I’ve seen some cool fan edits of void elves that had pale skin and splotched of void on them.
Either way, more options the better and I would hope that blizz would add new customizations every major patch or expansion, but Bobby needs a new boat
Alliance forum posters fought very hard so that there would be very little/no visual distinction.
Wait till body options come to everyone else. The only thing telling apart an elf and a human is the ears and eyes. Every humanoid is the same.
Not to mention the worse factor being their lore that trashes on the Blood Elves too, with the statement dropped in the unlock questline:
Grand Magister Rommath: “This is why I demanded that Umbric and his radicals be exiled. ANYONE who treats with the Void is a danger to the Sunwell!”
^ Thus implying all Blood Elf Shadowpriests, warlocks and void users – are officially no longer canon.
I agree 100%. Even though we have seen blood elf shadow priests in the forms of NPC’s before, and blood elf warlocks have been around constantly. Kael’thas had a whole slew of blood elf shadow priests called dusk priests in the Sunwell, and there was never fear, nor threat of the void being present then. Not to mention Mu’ru, a literal void aberration was two rooms away from the Sunwell.
It’s nonsense. I refuse to acknowledge that line as canon, to be honest.
