i dont even have to check and i know for a fact you are counting every dalaran npc
Exactly, they should be Horde as well.
imagine if you had over a 110 in actual alliance territory
Okay so I was actually curious how many of the 110 High Elf NPCs were actually Alliance alligned.
And it would seem 48 of 110 are Alliance. This is not counting repeated soldier NPCs of course. Named NPCs only.
(Observation): Dalaran is Alliance territory. The Council of Six voted to allow the Horde into the city during Legion. They didnât vote to leave the Alliance.
Most of the Alliance allied High Elves are Silver Covenant NPCs.
You can argue thatâs a neutral faction, but id say you were dumb, so please donât do that.
if you want to count your actual high elves we can go to SW and count the canon ones together. we can even go to boralus
Youâre forgetting The Alliance High Elf strongholds in Outlands and Northrend.
That have NPCs that are hostile to Horde and offer Alliance vendors and quest.
But I donât imagine most people who say there are no Helves on Alliance, actually loremastered on Alliance.
i didnt forget them. i just dont count them because they are moments stuck in time. the factions arent fighting the LK with the aid of dalaran in northrend anymore. neither do i believe the few elves at allerian stronghold are still there and i point to auric their leader there and the implications of his last lore location
alliance was my faction throughout classic. and ive leveled at least one throughout each expansion. alliance high elves are an extremely rare thing, especially as a quest giver
there was a single elf in loch modan. allerian stronghold has a small chain. wrath they just stand around. then really nothing until the purge storyline. these are really the only alliance exclusive quests they give
When I look at a Void elf, all I can conclude is that they are the love child of Alleria and Barney the purple dinosaur.
(Observation): You missed the High Elves at Theramore, the lodges in the Hinterlands and Eastern Plaguelands, as well as those elves in Stormwind and Menethil Harbor (the one in Menethil was later moved to Auberdine and was found dead in Cataclysm like other Auberdine residents). In Cata, the Silver Covenant is also the Allianceâs introduction to ZulâAman.
Void elves are the compromise. Get over it.
thereamore and one of the camping grounds for a few hermits was wiped out. in cata the alliance do not canonically help the horde with zulaman. vereesa appears in a personal capacity answering the farstriders call to defend their homeland. they just serve as an in for the alliance players
and for the record, the only source for a population in SW is the paper rpg books which are fanfiction. alliance high elves have no âhubs/settlementsâ this is what ion meant when he said they have assimilated. there are only a few, otherwise there would be a high elf district in SW
I have seen strong opinions regarding giving Druids to Void Elves. I can understand why, but is it impossible, I doubt it. Theyâre working with Alliance for a while, they could learn from Night Elves, nightmare style Druids like the one from ValsharahâŚ
I just want non Night Elf DruidâŚ
(Observation): Theramoreâs population was evacuated and the High Elven scouts of Theramore were with Vereesa and Shandris when Theramore was destroyed. As for the Lodge in the Eastern Plaguelands, there were still some survivors, such as Kris Goldenlight who appears in Mists of Pandaria for Alliance players at their shrine.
(Observation): Yes, that is what I said, isnât it?
(Commentary): The RPGs are non-canon until we learn otherwise. Tandred Proudmoore was non-canon until BFA, as an example. We do see High Elves in Stormwind. A named one in the Keep, a named one in the Mage Tower, and more recently weâre seeing Sorceresses walking around the Mage District.
(Commentary): That ignores the one lodge in the Hinterlands, but Ion prides himself on only playing one character, his Orc shaman, so I doubt he remembers that exists, or realizes it was a questing hub for Alliance players. That having been said, there doesnât need to be hub/settlement for High Elves as significant as an entire city or something. What hub do Vulpera have? Even if one was needed for High Elves, simply adding Dalaran somewhere and using the Silver Enclave would be suitable enough. The Vindicaar is good enough for Lightforged Draenei, some rocks in space are good enough for Void Elves, etcâŚ
the ones at theramore were the same ones who accompanied jaina and arthas. they werent civilian types and wouldnt have abandoned them. fanfiction what you want tho
they already have one. its the one vereesa and alleria call their âhomelandâ
(Commentary): Iâm not, âfanfictioning,â anything. It was in the novel, Tides of War. Vereesa and Shandris along with their forces, the Night Elves and High Elves, were in the swamps around Theramore, scouting, when the Bomb was dropped. Any High Elven civilians shouldâve been evacuated with the Theramore civilians, and any High Elven forces, wouldâve been with Vereesa and Shandris.
(Observation): Hard to call that a hub when theyâre all exiled from it.
(Commentary): Dalaran makes for a better hub.
yes ofc all of the high elves at theramore evacuated
youre just proving how little presence alliance high elves actually have that you have to cling to this hope of the theramore pop surviving
and thats the difference between what the horde blood elves represent and alliance high elves. blood elves represent the high elf kingdom and all its lands, civilian population, armies, oh and the sunwell. you guys got nothing but a mage trainer and a portal keeper and a mom raising children in dalaran
(Commentary): Hardly. Even if all the High Elves in Theramore were dead, the Silver Covenant alone outnumbers Void Elves. Thereâs no reason for the population numbers of a race to matter anymore in terms of being qualified as a playable race.
Void elves looking normal feels like such a copout to me. Theyâre meant to represent Old God corruption. Not be people who just will it away whenever they want. Iâll never understand people asking for the dilution of a race touched by a cosmic force in such a manner. It feels silly.
