I have a dollar.
With all due respect, Iâve been bumping onto some of your posts lately and they were very anti-leaning, which is fine, but if I see opinions that VEs shouldnât have something but everyone else can, such as Night elf Paladins or Undead Paladins, then I will speak out. With the way you commented earlier it was obvious you didnât want VE Paladins, but then I am also entitled to call you on it.
are void elf players all just ai like theres no wayyy
Oh yea, I am a known anti-paladin for void elves. Iâm not going to deny that. But I have friends on both side of the debate because Iâve always remained very civil. It is usually pro-high elfers or the like that come at me very abrasively because they confuse me with another poster.
I guess what Iâm saying is I was shocked with your verbiage considering my original post in this thread and I donât think weâve had a conversation before.
I stick by my guns. They donât make sense. But neither do Dark Ranger Void Elves or Tauren rogues so here we are. The flood gates are broken and we should just unlock all classes.
Weâre evil!
Starts rambling
Oh, I do have my issues with Void Elf Paladins. Iâd rather Blizz added High Elves as well because they are getting in the way of the race I play, Void Elves. Such as stealing customization options or destroying the little lore this AR has, thus likely preventing any lore to be added.
And Iâm sure Blizz did that to calm High Elf fans. It is the opposite, I had my favorite race (after Night Elves, who are also constantly being ruined by Blizz) ruined.
And while I donât mind High Elves and would not step on anyoneâs desire, what have they done to make me excited about them? Serve as Human trophy wives? Really, this High Elf race needs some big love and to be separated from Humans especially if it will be at the cost of this race that had potential to be unique. But thatâs rambling.
Finishes rambling
I have mostly been arguing against the reasons given to add Paladin. Such as âPriests use the light!â or âPerhaps Paladins also went to study the Voidâ. But I already know they are coming, so Iâve been saying I hope they add a good reason, or class skins.
But as you said, I doubt Blizz will do anything of that and just add 3 quests and boom, Void Elves worshipping Naaru with their Human overlords.
Hmm yeah I probably shouldnât have used the ââgatekeepingââ term, itâs a strong word. Like I said I do very much support void-themed paladins, though I wouldnât mind which manner they were added at this point because I do believe there is implied lore to explain uncorrupted void elves (see my argument to Fen above) in the sense that they call themselves Void elves but do not necessarily experiment with the Void.
Anyway ideally every race-class combo would have its own unique feel and flavour and who knows they might aim for starting some class skins at some point.
There was that high elf ballista that won the day at Orgrimmar, nobly sacrificing itself to singlehandedly kill Sylvanas.
Iâd love to see race and class combos having their own flavors. Iâve seen certain artists on Twitter and such creating concepts for it. Void Elf Paladins, a good compromise in my opinion, could have dark light and darker themes of armor. I feel like that could make a lot more sense because then the argument could be that it wasnât pure âLightâ.
I need to read that story!
Not to mention it could open a door for future skins. Nelf with moonlight instead, for instance. And just disabling the effects in PvP because I always see PvP being a gatekeep for cool customization things or toys.
Yeah I love Simaiaâs Riftblade render. But Myliade commented above in quite strong manner to me that Blizz is just not gonna do it cause it would require the recolouring of several spells⊠doesnât mean we should stop asking for it, because you never know they might consider class skins for the future and void elf riftblade / dark paladin skin might be the first they start with! I know Iâm just assuming now but you know how it goes hah, ask for long enough and you just might get it!
So I was playing my Paladin and it kind of dawned on me. Why exactly do you want Paladins for void elves? Honestly Warriors about fulfill all you could want from a Plate wearing Void elf minus the healing but thatâs always been more a Light/Nature thing rather then Void thing.
because most âvoid elfâ fans just want to play prettier humans instead of elves.
You have already them, they are called Blood and Void Elves in which you are one of them.
Congratulations, you are what you wanted.
You guys are never happy are you? Everyone has begged and cried for pretty elf race on the Alliance, you finally get them and you are not happy with it. I donât blame you, Void Elves arenât that interesting to go off on, why? Because you are literally Blood Elves who are literally High Elves all under a different name. You even got blue eyes to go with. I have to know, what exactly do you want? Do you want both races to be renamed High Elf so you can just have the title or what? I never understood this debate. The creators plainly say these two races are High Elves, what more do you need for them to say?
He wants Void elves to be separate from the High elf fantasy, to grow into their own thing with Void lore instead of just being a Tolkien elf. At least thatâs the impression I got reading some of his stuff.
Well said!
JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN OGRES ALREADY !!!
Doesnt help when exiles reach literally teases you with it
Iâm sorry, Iâm already more prettier than all you elves.
It really hasnât.
Iâm pretty gung ho for all classes/all races, but letâs be honest and clear here. There is no guarantee that all classes/all races will actually happen. And even if it does, it wonât happen any time soon.
Thereâs are Brian Holinkaâs exact words:
I donât want to make any huge promises, but we want, we kinda feel like we want to move towards a world where the race of a character is not a limiter for what they can do or what they can become in the world of warcraft.
âlater in the interview
âŠwith general intentions for us to look at more options down the line
This is not confirmation that every race will get every class. It is not a guarantee. It is a statement as to Blizzardâs âgeneral intentionsâ going forward, and if you watch the interview Holinka mentions some of the hurdles involved in actually getting us to that point. And as I said, even if Blizzard moves in that direction and starts proliferating more classes to more races, itâs not going to happen any time soon.
I doubt weâll see any more class proliferation during Dragonflight. If, and I stress if we see another class proliferated during Dragonflight, it will almost certainly be Monk. Beyond that I donât believe weâll see any other class proliferation until the next expansion. Thatâs at least two years away. And assuming we see more class proliferation in 11.0, thereâs no guarantee that it will include the Paladin class.
For all we know 11.0 could proliferate only a single class, and thereâs no guarantee that class will be Paladin, or that Blizzard wonât make exceptions as to which races get to have which classes or not. Iâm not trying to be a downer here, I just want everyone to reign in their expectations, because getting ahead of ourselves now could end up leading to serious disappointment in the future.
Expect the worst, but hope for the best.
Did you even stop for a second and try to comprehend the post you read and quoted?
Thatâs the thing though, they canât just leave it at âPriest, Rogues and Magesâ as the only classes as the only class race combination, because then that puts Horde at a huge advantage on more âClass-Raceâ combinations over Alliance. And only reason those 3 were unlocked right at the beginning is because they donât have that much lore tied to them to make no sense on the races that they werenât on previously.
Other classes though need some tinker to fit other races and rest need a huge tinker to work with the rest. Yes, nothing has been fully set in stone, but we do know what the goal Blizzard wants to do.
