Void does not equal shadow in Blizzard lore.
That’s a good thing. Give the Void Elf hairstyles also to the Blood Elves.

You guys are just flat out gatekeeping. And worst of all is you gatekeep VEs but insist that other races get class combos instead. So VEs should be the ONLY ones left out in the class spectrum. Night elves can be DHs and Druids. Blood elves can be DHs and Paladins. So why can’t VEs be any of these?
If lore is the only excuse you can come up with then it’s piss poor because all you are really doing is gatekeeping other people’s enjoyment of the game. Have a good day.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Because I think it’s very unfair to be gatekeeping people’s enjoyment of the game based solely on lore. I absolutely do support class skins and different class flavours but outright preventing people from playing the race-class combo they’d like to is a very outdated concept that such a grand franchise like WoW has no excuse to support anymore.

Honestly, I just hate the idea of VE Paladins, but as I mentioned a few post ago, I rather keep it at an opinion and not gatekeep on others enjoyment.
This is the biggest problem we see with the community today, is people chosing to gatekeep others on the enjoyment they want. Like, who really cares anymore? We’re only paying for a license to be granted to play the game, we don’t own anything. Yes, some things won’t make sense, but who really cares anymore?
The biggest problem with World of Warcraft is that it is an MMO designed to split the community, and with that brings a lot of toxicity to the playerbase. The forums is a perfect example of all this, especially in threads of High Elves or Void Elf Paladins just to name a couple examples.
In the end, I am glad Blizzard is actually trying to take a different approach to the past, because one thing that a toxic playerbase does is make it harder for new people to join, although don’t really know who wants to join when the devs doesn’t seem to want to provide any decent content for everyone to enjoy.

It kind of hurts to know this is what you think. There are High elf Wayfarer NPCs in Telogrus and all that character customization to portray a High Elf. Alleria is in fact a High Elf who infused herself with the Void. She is as much High elf as she is Void elf. Her and Vereesa seem to be joining forces, especially now that Sylvanas is changing so much. High elves joining the Void elf ranks is at the very least implied in the lore. And that on its own well implies that some High elves could be experimenting with the Void and being uncorrupted, or just flat out not engaging with it but still be IN the Void elf ranks, as in joining their army and their cause but just not experimenting. The VEs will undoubtedly be much more cautious about meddling with Void infusion now after the big accident. It makes sense, it’s implied in the lore.

You are promoting the argument that we are fakes. You said it yourself we have our High elven and Blood elven history which cannot be erased. We are still ourselves, the Blood elves and High elves even if some from our ranks experimented with the Void. We are experimental Blood/High elves. The name ‘‘Void elves’’ is merely a name given to us to distinguish us due to firstly our own faction and secondly the reason we were exiled, meaning our group experimented with Void, now that doesn’t equate that we all do or that we’re no longer High elven / Blood elven.

Apparently, wanting a good excuse for Velves to be Paladins, and not turn them into another boring Human is gatekeeping and ruining other people’s enjoyment. Wanting common sense for the race you like is bad.
They can ruin the race you like all fine with the boring High Elf propaganda, ok, but don’t dare to defend your race because you would be ruining theirs as Helf fans desire > yours!
I just can’t reply seriously to people that go that route. So this is for you.

Well, if you were not trying to gatekeep then I stand corrected. It came off as you not wanting them to be Paladins at all, hence why I said it. I fully support void-themed Paladins, it’s just something that is hard to make happen when considering Blizzard’s copy-paste history. Ideally they would take their time to recolour some of our spells and give us a ‘‘Dark Paladin’’ name or something of the sort.

With all due respect, gatekeeping would imply that we had any sway in how Blizzard approached these decisions, which we don’t. I was very surprised at your tone with me to be honest.
