Disc priests literally combind light and shadow. Several of their spells do both light and shadow damage at the same time. Clearly light and void can be combined very successfully. We ever use like a shadowlight force or some such in argus campaign.
There is no lore that says every priest that picks up a sword and wears heavy armor has to be part of the knights of the silver hand and go through their specific rituals. You can call them whatever you want. But if they use the light and heavy armor itâs class enough to be called a paladin in game mechanics.
There is no reason void elves canât use the light normally as shadowlight magic is already a thing. Maybe infusion would hurt. But there is no hard core law that you canât use the holy light and wear heavy armor without infusing yourself. There isnât some super god who comes and beats you up if you wear armor like a warrior and wield light magic like a priest.
That is nowhere near stating anything of Paladins being infused with the light. Let me use this as another example: Priest also feels the light within them. Does this mean priest are also infused with the light?
No, I am not Lore. And no, it is not true.
Paladins use the light the same way as the priest. All they have done is take extra training. If you want a better example on how both use the light:
Priest uses the light to heal allies
Paladins uses the light to damage there foes.
Night elf pallies would be better. I donât see why it would have to be the void elves to get the class when it would make more sense for just about any other alliance race to get them.
I think opening every class to every race would be a mistake overall, and given the very limited scope of evokers and demon hunters it doesnât seem like something they really want to do.
And if they donât open every class to every race, Iâd rather see night elves get it because they make more sense.
Night Elves should of gotten Paladin class at the end of Legion or at the end of BFA when tree burned because legit they are long overdue for Night Elf as a class combo.
Iâve been waiting to race change my Paladin to a Night Elf for years.
I remember when I would literally walk around the Well of Eternity dungeon back in Cata simply to pretend my Human Paladin was a Night Elf Paladin (the dungeon transforms you into a Night Elf).
The argument for LFD Shadow Priests and all is old and always debunked.
First of all, and going with the easiest, most simple answer: Developers wonât add a class with two specs. locked. Itâd make no sense. Remember: Game mechanics > Lore.
And second of all, we should remember that not all Priests are the same. Draenei Shadow Priests are Soulpriests.
When it comes to Void Elves. You absolutely never see a Void Elf Discipline or Holy NPC. Because they are either Shadow Priests or mostly mages. And following the âMageâ part, these are the Elves that mostly are going to the rift to study the Void. Not Paladins. Paladins are zealous who despise the Void.
The class argument makes no sense, as simple and âgotchaâ as it looks, has a very simple answer.
And even if we stretch that logic so much, would make no sense that a big amount of Paladins go to the Void as to make it playable without a good excuse.
Even if NEâs though did get Pallies, Iâd still be sticking as a Human Pally. Even if they unlock it to every race, still be sticking as a human.
Though I do see where Blizzard is coming from, I think some classes should not be made available to every race, such as Paladins for example. But this is my own opinion in the end, and nothing I say or do will change that.
Argument: Blood Elves and High Elves that use and worship the Light wouldnât be interested in joining the Void Elves.
Response: However, we know this is a worthless argument because itâs proven false. Through the very existence of Priests being available to Void Elves, this means that there were Holy and Discipline Priests from High Elf and Blood Elf society that did willingly choose to set aside their Light worship to participate in the research, studying, and worship of the Void. These individuals then modified their abilities to use the Void rather than the Light going forward, and becoming Shadow Priests.
Because of this fact that there were Light wielding High Elves and Blood Elves swapping to wielding the Void and joining the Void Elves, not only Priests would be doing this but also Paladin. Thus, itâs entirely justifiable that there are High Elf and Blood Elf Paladins joining the ranks of the Void Elves to become Void Paladins. Additionally, itâd be entirely possible that similar to how the original Human Paladins were created, rather than Holy Priests and Warriors coming together to form Paladins of the Light, Void Elves could have Shadow Priests and Warriors coming together to form Paladins of the Void.
Honestly if Blizzard hadnât said they were planning to open up all races to all classes Iâd not expect paladins for void elves. I still like the class thoughâŠ
I feel like players need to make sure blizzard knows they want thematically appropriate paladins if theyâre going that route.
Well I mean they could pretty much fix evokers by having visage forms for EVERY race, and long over due for my giant sky blotting Tauren Demon Hunter to terrorize the skies, well, at least the bits it can glide through.
Just pull the cord, all the races all the classes, let the players sort out their own lore for how their character came to the knowledge of the claass that they have.
(and Mechagnome druids damn well better be transformers.)
Theyâve been due since at least Legion, but like Void Elves, Iâd definitely love for them to have their own class skin, more befitting of their worship of Elune.
These class skins, like the Void Elf concept posted eariler were also designed by Simaia on Twitter, on the same thread.
I generally keep it only as my own opinion to be honest. Honestly, Iâm against the ideas of Void Elf Paladins, but honestly, there is nothing really stopping me from not rolling one.
