Not everyone plays dwarves. I just saw a graph and its minuscule
Nah, they play them. Just not willing to come out of the bar
Jokes aside, it is quite sad though.
No one plays that ugly box body race. Why waste resources? And time and money. Blizzard has bigger fish to fry.
I am more worried about customizations with them then classes honestly. (I only really think they can add monks to them)
They need a model toggle with other races models for starters.
Rotten fish is more fresh then the elf wars.
Given that a Paladin can be anything from a Light User to a Troll Blessed by a Magic Dinosaur I donât think it needs to be as strict as it is.
Itâs okay to be basic.
Another reason I donât expect this âclass skinâ garbage to be a reality is that WoWâs engine would more than likely mandate giving such a thing entirely different spells from a regular paladin, leading to problems such as tier sets needing special coding so they donât get confused trying to figure out which version of the class they need to augment, combined with the need to make sure both versionsâ spells are complete 1:1 copies of each other so that when one gets buffed or nerfed, the other does as well. Imagine the difference between WotLK/Cata DKs and SL DKs (one has Veteran of the Third War and the other has Veteran of the Fourth War, both of which are functionally the same), times 10.
Also, itâs probably not that important, but several races still have racials that give them damage reduction against a single school. Your void elf paladin would be slightly less effective in PvP against undead, draenei, and other void elves (who all resist Shadow) and slightly more effective against Lightforged (who resist Holy) than a human paladin doing the exact same thing as you in the exact same gear.
And then people will decide that having 13 classes is too complex and ask that Blizzard consolidate them into Person with Sword, Person with Book, and Person with Gun.
The crusade for helf/velf paladins is predicated on the intense desire to specifically play an Alliance elf paladin, even though as stated above, Alliance paladins were always a human and dwarf thing before the draenei came along. At this point, it wouldnât surprise me if some of these people foam at the mouth whenever theyâre told âjust play a blood elfâ.
Even if Blizzard ends up opening most classes to all races they may also hold back on the last few thatâs holding them up for the very reasons you listed.
And once cross faction guilds are a thing people really can just play a Blood Elf and get over it. Blood Elves are still Horde but at least they can play in a guild w their friends or what ever holds them to the Alliance.
I especially donât see them taking the time and making class skins just for them to immediately make them moot by giving Alliance HE players regular Paladin on the same race they just got designed a class skin for lol.
What a good time this could be for glyphs to offer optional spell effects.
I can see class skins being a thing in next expansion. Itâs been requested a lot.
I personally hope to see a void skin if we ever get Void Elf paladins.
That might be a good idea, but void elves could also be high elf or undead paladins like blood elves.
I wouldnât be surprised if Blizzard adds void elf paladins without explanation.
The only ppl requesting that is HE playersâŚ
Who are players.
âŚMan, this is what I mean about the Great Elf Wars being fresh.
The only ppl requesting that is HE playersâŚ
I think some people are requesting an actual void elf class skin that are separate from the HE players.
The issue lies in that what HE players are requesting
Simaia on Twitter made a wonderful concept for Void Elf Paladins
Is literally this post
If you look at the post what does the picture on the left look like to you? How is that a class skin LOL
The only ppl requesting that is HE playersâŚ
I am talking about class skins in general.
I am talking about class skins in general
So in my above post the quote I quoted w the person showing an example of a class skin.
What is the picture on the left?
Cosmetic option - Silver Hand. Yes? I suppose there will never be a âVoidâ elf paladin using holy light lorewise. So I guess the concept stands for the cosmetic reasons. More customization is always welcome.

Thatâs not more customization though is it?
Because you can already be a light themed Paladin on a Blood Elf.
So you want resources to design you a special class skin for the void. Okay Iâm following. But then you support making the class skin moot by finessing a High Elf Paladin at the same time. Got it.
At least we know what people mean then.
Do our opinions matter currently when it comes to that right now? The Paladin is coming to Void Elves, sooner than later. Not my wish just to make that sure. The direct quote from Blizzard is that they want to make all races be able to select all classes eventually.
As Iâve said, plenty of people are requesting class skins in general, such as Moon blue spells for Night Elf priests, Holy spell visuals for LF Draenei Shadow priests or others, maybe arcane visuals if Nightborne become druids one day. I could keep going. In this case, when Void Elves eventually get Paladins one day, I wish they make a void skin so that we could have melee shadow/void characters.

But you also hope for a non void skin

Which is what you stated here when I inquired on your stance or opinion on that idea being pushed.
To do all the work for class skins to just turn around and make it moot because the goals of some arenât really class skins just the ground work for their HE Paladin I think is a disservice to people who actually want moon themed NE spells etc etc
