Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

I know that but there are horde players who also want high elves to return to Silvermoon.

For what? Because they don’t have enough Blood Elves (= “High Elves” in red) already? Sometimes I can’t believe these people are at the same age as me.

Indeed, it’s strange because they already have the “high elves”, but they can also ask whatever they want. :person_shrugging:

Pretty much. Like IDK why Horde players want the “High Elf” name tag personally, but I feel it would be plausible given the context, and after Void Elves got Darkfallen customization with little context added, it feels doable.

Even if I’m not the sort of people that wants or understand the desire for a Horde High Elf, it would be nice for everyone who wants the option to get it.

They don’t need it, it would be just fanservice because they don’t have the actual High Elves. It’s the irony though: They are High Elves but don’t call themselves anymore while the Alliance has the actual High Elves and not the right racials while having the vanity items (mounts, tabards, transmog).

What a weird world we live in.

As I said, I don’t know why would anyone would want it, but hey, live and let live. There are Horde aligned High Elves in canon, and if a player wants that fantasy, good on them.

High Elf customizations are already cross-faction sharing anyway.
Of course, there would need to be more HE customizations (hairstyles, tattoos) but there would also need to be a quest to really formalize high elves like the man’ari and dark rangers. The race tag option would just be a bonus for all sub-race customizations.

Who are they? And there are Alliance-aligned Blood Elves too

The Alliance has only a few Blood Elves in numbers. The original corrupted Void Elves and Valeera as a story character.

Otherwise: High Elves. Why would a Blood Elf join the Alliance?

The Silvermoon Scholars of Telogrus Rift are friendly with the Void Elves/Alliance. It’s probably blood elves who were banished from Silvermoon like Umbric and his group.

Pretty much; as I said in another reply I think, High Elf Farstrider customization options could very naturally come in the context of Outland HE returning Azeroth. Just like DR, they canonically already exist on the Horde and the Alliance, it would just be a nice framing for the whole thing, and serve to give context to some small things, like some Horde HE deciding to go by that name, or some of those Farstriders joining Alleria and the Void Elves.

Thalo’thas Brightsun is the first one that comes to mind. He’s actively hostile to alliance forces and works in Horde aligned lands. There are some others that give more of a neutral vibe, but leaning to the Horde.

I do think the Void Elves are Alliance aligned BE, I think they literally are lmao. Like even if we consider that is canonical that all of them turned blue and can’t return to their OG form -since we don’t have canonical explanation about their SL skin and hair colors) It’s very likely that there are some BE that didn’t join that first group, yet still follow his ideals, and left the Horde later.

Point being, given the current politics, it’s very possible that both High Elves and Blood Elves to want to be on the opposing faction; I think that the only question is how acceptable in universe would be to keep the name if you do so.

Personally, I think a HE that goes back to Silvermoon would simply choose to refer to themselves as a Blood Elf, but evidently there are people that think otherwise, so who am I to declare that no High Elf ever would want to keep their name even if they want to ally with Silvermoon or the Horde?

They are and it’s canon.
You cannot wear Quel’dorei-based transmog as Horde Blood Elf, because you are not a High Elf anymore. It’s like Bronzebeard VS Wildhammers VS Dark Iron Dwarves.

I don’t understand your point here.

The Midnight expansion will be very promising for fans of Thalassian elves. :v:
I hope we get the neutral high elf allied race or a revamp for VE/BE. :crossed_fingers:
