Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

WHAT? Where am I harassing you? You just made a flawed argument and I called you on it. I’m not harassing you because I disagree with you. I don’t dislike you as a person because you don’t want Void Elves to have natural hair colors. I just disagree with you. I don’t lack a way to counter your argument. Your argument is flawed and I presented how.

In what way have I even come close to harassing you?

I know this but my point was that focus won’t be on Void Elves or Void Elf hair which is why it’s unlikely to be really groundbreaking if the natural hair colors for Void Elves still have tentacles in them, it will be like cool already expected that, moving on. :yum: :yum: :yum:

I am glad there are few hairs that I don’t need to rely on tentacles* :o)

Um, what? Blood elves have had… blue eyes for some time now? Actually we’ve had examples of Blue eyed Blood elves since the Burning Crusade, Astromancer Darnarian. In Mists we had Lanesh Steelweaver, which Steve Danuser confirmed was canon - which makes all the other blue eyed blood elves we saw during Mists pretty convincing as well. Lanesh even came back for Legion.

Lastly we just got a blue eyed Mage trainer in Orgimmar to reflect the new customizations in Shadowlands, so I’m really confused as to where you’re getting off with the idea that there’s no blue eyed blood elves. lol

I can actually back this statement since I am currently playing TBC. Softsong is right about this part. Also TBC Wowhead has one comment that this NPC particularly has blue eyes while every other NPCS in TBC has green.

Umbric is definitely deferent to Alleria.

We will see a toggle option in the near future for it.

Isn’t there already toggle option?

It’s heavily implied, both in-universe and out, that there are effectively two clusters of Void Elves:

  • The first group includes Magister Umbric and all of his supporters, who were forcibly inundated by the Void (i.e. they were physiologically altered by their exposure to the Void).

  • The second group includes a variety of High Elves and Blood Elves who, intrigued by the awesome power of the Void, seem completely eager to aligned themselves with Umbric (and the existence of this group is almost certainly the justification that Blizzard will cite to when explaining “natural-looking Void Elves”).

TLDR – It makes plenty of sense for Void Elves that aren’t completely suffused by the Void to exist. If we’re being frank, “natural-looking Void Elves” probably constitute a majority of their ranks. :man_shrugging:

Uhm.

Glad you’re hopeful for it?

No, but several hairstyle options have or do not have tentacles for male and female.

Didn’t you remember the forum postings from the past? There is already a toggle option in the game files for the Void Elves and the effect is separated from the hair style. The only restriction I have found in these new customization options are human faces based on ethnic and required moustaches for dwarves. Otherwise you can toggle almost everything on and off on every race.

Sure.

Like I said glad you’re hopeful.

I’m not gonna expect anything from blizzard until they announce it.

Plenty of things in the files that they’ve never given.

Some nice Void Elf braid + feather customization keyboardturn did !

It’s bit provocative to get this from the Blood Elf topic and secondly, the feather accessories do not fit the Alliance elves at all. Alleria might have them however it’s the Blood Elves’ turn to get something unique. But more hair styles for all elves are always a win.

Not sure how it’s provocative when it originally was made for void elves.

It being posted there first doesn’t change the original intent.

Alleria is basically the pinnacle of what it means to be an Alliance High Elf. We should definitely be allowed her aesthetic. And as far as I recall, don’t the Blood Elves think rangers aren’t all that great anymore? Them and the Blood Knights don’t get along or some bs.

Yup, especially when the majority of races can look like their leaders.

I don’t see why Alliance can’t have a classic ranger (or even have a Void take on it) theme for our VEs while BEs get a more modern one that represents their love for the Horde and the drastic change in their society and beliefs. It’s strange that they still haven’t been given any kind of Horde aesthetic yet despite clearly caring about it and embracing their values

Yep.

These could also just be there literally to represent High Elves themselves, even those non-Void tainted. Similar to how Dwarves can have Wildhammer Tattoos to represent that clan (At the expense of No Wildhammer Racials) and the various Troll Tribes are mixed into Darkspears. (Again without matching racials.)
