Between sabotage (wth Night Elves?) and their particular issues going isolationist wasn’t a great option.
You should do the quest again and pay attention not just to what hes saying but others along the way.
Most think hes just trapped in the past. Its just him reacting to how bad everything is. Its normal for that to happen in times like that. Some people with the means to do it, just try to act like its all normal.
Effectively he is carrying on. That doesn’t mean everyone agrees with that mentality at the time.
As for hedonistic… yeah… they’re elves. Honestly that fits well enough. Especially since it also feel good to be hedonistic and if you’re the last 9% of your race you might as well have a party before the end.
Sorry I didn’t mean it to sound like it was literally just him.
Hes just the richmon putting it on. Plenty of people would gravitate to that sort of “everything’s fine” mentality.
I know why they refused to return and/or left.
Still doesn’t make sense. My race is dying and changed their name to honor the fallen. I refuse!
Remember they didn’t get the mana draining until after Kael’thas sent Rommath back. That wasn’t a package deal. It was a refusal politically. Still not a great look to refuse to honor those who died before all of that was a thing.
The pen and paper rpg is also the only place where High Elves are determined to have a pale skin tone. That doesn’t exist anywhere else.
We can leave the RPG in the dust. Its non-canon and thus useless for anything canon in any capacity.
(That doesn’t mean it couldn’t be used for inspiration though. for instance many draw the Wildhammer’s potential for Druid class from there.)
Just… can’t trust the RPG.
If it were Warhammer chaos he’d have a cool crab claw for an arm.
Hes just got effectively the Shadow form tentacles all the time and a happy mouth in his tum tum. Relax.
Priests are one thing. We just don’t have a lot of good info on whether or not they had many in the Paladin order.
Clearly they had some. I just wonder if it would be enough. The Devs have been wishy washy on it as far as high elves were concerned over the years.
The Dalaran one was a trainer though. That counts for something for sure.
