So, what are you suggesting? People go back to requesting for High Elves as a seperate playable race for the Alliance?
Half elves is a good option, we could also go with model toggles with lfd to include other races in the lightforgibg process. (Forsaken can use model toggle too)
Although model toggle wouldnât be as likely to happen.
That is the thing. People originally wanted High Elves. Not the Blood Elves who went Horde, High Elves who remained on Alliance. Then Blizzard gave the Alliance Void Elves in 7.3 as a compromise, people still wanted High Elves. Then as soon as Blizzard decided to give the fair skin and more eyes for the Void Elves, there was an explanation from Ely as to why so, and that they might do more in the future, people then decided to start requesting on ideas to help with the compromise, but BE Fans and VE fans come out with the same arguments all the time.
This isnât about being a BE Fan or being a VE fan, this is about denying the Alliance the High Elves.
Iâd love to see a new model of High Elves. New animations, new posture, maybe even a new skeleton. I just donât want to see my race Ctrl+C onto the Alliance. I think a lot of people definitely feel the same way; not opposed to High Elves necessarily, but opposed to a copy paste of Blood Elves onto the Void Elf aesthetic. I love my lilâ gothic elves.
Thing is, at this point your fighting a losing battle here. Void elves while donât have allot of lore has a very defined one through void lore. Void magic is a very potent and corrupting magic. You cannot expect a charecter with a race tag âVoid elfâ to have any semblance of normalcy without harming Void lore in itâs entirety.
Your asking to break the game for just a minor appearance for no reason when you have other avenues to get the fantasy you want.
Well, back in the old HE threads, the proâs did come up with that suggestion, and it was still coming from people on the forums, âif you want to play a High Elf, the Horde is waiting for youâ.
I mean, they werenât wrong? Not trying to be sassy here, just saying at that point in time, the âHigh Elvesâ were on the Horde. But I do think Blizzard could do a lot with High Elves in the future without necessarily continuing to steal Blood Elf stuff. We could do a model that fits snugly between the humans and Blood Elves in terms of posture and animation. Something with different faces. The Nightborne look so vastly different from Night Elves that there is practically no argument for their similarities; we could do that with High Elves as well.
Honestly, if half elves became a thing, it wouldnât be hard to sub race high elves with it without harming any lore.
I agree with that, but lore is also an argument I donât find very convincing anymore considering Blizz doesnât even follow their own lore. Itâs a bit silly that they keep changing their own lore so drastically that we canât keep up.
While that is up for debate, there is indeed hard rules in the WoW universe that they refuse to break, like what Magic does what and some classes like paladins functions.
Are their hard rules against Half elves? Not super familiar with those but Iâm not sure what their place in society is.
Not really all that much on them to begin with.
We have two to three in lore depending on how youâre counting, two use a human model and one a thalassian model.
Not really much on where they fit in societies.
One of em is just Kalecgos in human (half elf) form.
The thing is, this was what was suggested before and thatâs how people came up with some mockups to show how a new model could be differentiated but still High Elf.
But Blizzard has explained that the new customizations given to certain races (Dwarves, Trolls, Void Elves, Blood Elves, Night Elves, Magâhar) is how they decided they want to handle giving these sort of âsub-racesâ.
They consider picking specific options under Dwarves gives you your Wildhammer, picking specific options under your Trolls gives you Sand Trolls/other Troll tribes, and picking certain options under your Blood Elves/Void Elves gives you High Elves.
As much as there was brainstorming to come up with a new suggested model, we already know what Blizzardâs decision on that idea is â giving customization options to existing models.
Ergo itâs why majority of people have stopped suggesting a new model and are requesting customization options, thatâs what Blizzard decided to head so weâre just steering along with the ship best we can.
I was wondering why there arenât many of them in lore, but I walk around Stormwind on my Alliance characters and see a lot of people RPing them.
Yeah itâs a common RP.
Either because people were trying to explain their human being an elf or just because itâs a fun story.
(at least thatâs the common ones I run into)
Half elves would be neat.
I personally would want it for both Horde and Alliance.
Half elf half human Alliance.
Half elf half orc Horde.
Iâm also so on the boat for MokâNathal and half orc half trolls.
I see what youâre saying. Just feels super weird that theyâd copy+paste Blood Elves onto the Alliance without doing the same for Night Elves and Nightborne. I mean⊠look at this catastrophe

Thatâs why I made the suggestion of doing small changes, such as facial features or posture. I think it would still be in the realm of possibilities, considering they did it here. But hopefully they donât butcher them as badly. Horde for the short end of the stick with elf AR options.
Also: I can post pictures normally but keep getting an error message so just remove the space.
Thanks. May be because Iâm on mobile
Itâs just weird sometimes.
Still having an issue in my thread with pictures last nightâŠ
