Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

You don’t even need to necessarily be a “High Elf Fan” to want regular hair options & hair colors. There’s plenty of people who love the Void Aesthetic but hate the eyesore that are tendrils and lack of a variety of hair colors/options. They’re still Elves… not K’thir Void Monster things. Thus there’s no reason they shouldn’t have standard Elven options when it comes to something as basic as hair. I don’t think they should get Blood Elf hair (minus the few options maybe that Belves share with Humans/Night Elves. I think those might be exceptions.) But i think they should give Void Elves some Human & Night Elf hairstyles. Maybe even a few others. Female Void Elves would look cool with the Dwarf “Shieldmaiden” hair. As would Humans. There’s no reason why they shouldnt get access to normal hair styles or colors. They already have SOME nonvoided hair options… there’s just barely any variety.

Again there’s plenty of fans of the Void theme who would also want normal options as well. Or even people who would want something like Normal hair/hair color and perhaps some Voidish looking eyes. Which they also lack btw. Would love to see some sort of radiating Voidish Purple eyes.

Personally i think it would be cool to see a Void Elf with the Grey/Blue tainted skin and blonde hair. You could make some really wacky looking options with that mix.

This is what I mean about the lack of lore being a problem, because that’s speculation.

We genuinely don’t know how a void elf stacks up against novice Alleria. Or even much about Timothy The Very Average Void Elf.

WAIT!?!?!?

First full, now average…

I am so confused…

If the name Timothy was free on Wyrmrest Accord, I would have to bump up my short elf count just to roll my poor demonstration elf.

Why yes she did! She had been using shadow magic…and Locus-Walker called her on it when he asked how she reconciled that and Turalyon’s Light. BUT: she didn’t have “Void” powers until Locus-Walker fed her Nhal’athoth’s heart. It was at that point he told her that as long as she didn’t lose her mind to the Void (see “A Vessel Made Ready”) she would be able to wield the Void’s power…and before she completed her Void Elf journey by sucking Lura dry.

No one but you is crying over anything.

This whole conversation seems to revolve around…

“The High Elves studying Void powers will be Void Elves! What? No of course they won’t go through a wildly dangerous and life-threatening ritual that only ends at the last possible moment to get that power. WHAT?!? No they will not suck some poor misguided Naaru dry for it. They’ll just…have it! Why? To advance the story, of course.”

That line of reasoning seems to have better plot armor than Sylvanus around here.

You had me until you compared their plot armor to Sylvanas.
:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If they really want the lore of the wayfarers blizzard should show Alleria story advancing the void effects on her model in the process and then have that tie in as story somehow.

As is they have confirmed RP tools / player agency to see their characters how they want to (which is nice but I never thought it was in question how you see your character it just starts and ends with you)

But she’s still using void abilities as a previously not magic wielding elf.

So she’s begun her training. How does that stack up with potential void trainees? Is that where the additional void elves are coming from, as Danseur strongly implied?

Honestly, we don’t know.

This sounds eerily beautiful and I love it.

Ok, fair. No one - at least not since Nathanos when he starred in BS at the Beach, Featuring Nat and the Girls™ - has had plot armor like hers.

There’s no reason those interested in their void aspect should be limited either…

Yeah I did. But it gets ignored because some people don’t want to look at facts. Because trying to say they decided where Void Elves are as good as is would be also trying to say they’re done giving customization to all other AR that received some customization updates as well.

But that would be wrong and silly ofc. Because I also linked where they said Allied Race customizations will come later on and they only focused on the original races for SL release.

That means whatever customizations all Allied Races received is not considered ‘the customization pass’ by Blizzard. From Blizzard’s own mouth.

And anything said by Blizzard is what has finality, not the subjective opinions of us here.

There’s a reason I prefer options like dark black or silver hair, mottled skin, two toned hair, and purple tattoos. Options that are… flexible.

It wouldn’t be an issue if the non void skin tones were not given.

Natural hair colors moving forward is the visual distinction that remains.

Story might be added by changing Alleria + solidifying the possibility for actual void unique options.

Too late for that one. Skins are here and so are the black (on some hairdos) and silvery hair.

Did I imply it wasn’t too late on the skin tones? Not what I meant to convey sorry for the confusion.

It’s why continued poaching of the BE visual theme doesn’t work however.

That’s legit all it needs is she needs to be relevant to storyline for one reason or another and boom she can be changed to be void corrupted or voided out because whenever a main NPC is relevant to storyline is when they usually get new model or updated model so hopefully that will happen with Alleria as well.

Sprouting tentacles?

Purple blood?

Getting covered in purple velour if you smack things?

Yeah, slight transformation.

Also Forsaken are not really dead, this is not rot, it’s just a skin condition.

So asking for options that would let Void Elves be their own thing it’s the same as not wanting more options for them.

Hot take.
