Wow the reaching in this thread this morning is crazy because Undead and Human are way different from one another, I have both but it’s still lol that someone would actually say that.
He might as well say that Steve Buscemi looks the same as The Rock… well, you know, if he had a few more inches in height… and worked out… and got a tan… and got facial surgery… but they’re totally the same, right?
As long as he doesn’t start wanting to change Forsaken, I guess he can keep going with his false equivalencies, because I do like Forsaken how they are.
Yet you have the fleshy arms and legs. To each their own but you clearly like looking that much more human.
100% agree! This seems something that bugs you quite a lot, you might want to have a conversation with a few of your friends in that case.
Void Elves are former High/Blood Elves who seek to harness the power of the Void to protect their allies and use it for the benefit of Azeroth. That’s who they are in essence, regardless of how they look like.
We’ll have to agree to disagree here. My Void Elf looks great with that moustache and beard (which aren’t available for Blood Elves by the way). And every time EE procs he looks fabulous!
You might want to ask the same question to other players who are allegedly Blood Elf fans that keep asking for Undead skins for them, customizations that, following your standards and logic, have nothing to do with Blood Elves as a race and encroach on Death Knight and Forsaken themes.
Lol, sure. (I’m not serious.)
I’m the same way and I like quite a few of the new customization options they got in the customization pass including the hide bones option, I just can’t see how being able to hide bones makes us exactly like Humans it’s like really a reach like I already said.
No one said exactly.
Just stop, really stop, you reach so much I have a hard time taking anything you say seriously.
Ok whatever.
Yes, I do.
The lore is what it is.
We have no evidence that they do. We only have knowledge that some high elves and blood elves have made their way there and are studying.
Lorewise Alleria is the only one who retains her old appearance.
We can assume, and it is likely that danuser did mean that they are training to become void elves but he never said they were void elves.
He was vague and he was vague because blizzard doesn’t know yet how that process will work.
They should make it clear and explain but they have not.
No, it’s not.
If there were any void elves in the game with those tones, that would confirm it.
That’s not what we have.
The lore is what it is.
Stop thinking of me as an anti. I’m not.
You absolutely can ask for whatever you want. I will not stop you.
I will correct your lore when you’re wrong and straight up using it as an excuse to boot.
One you do not need.
Or black is just one more color the transformation gives.
Again though, we do not have access and it’s unfinished.
Kinda wish we had a few colors.
Or animated. That’s been going around of late.
Kinda sounds fun honestly. I wasn’t a fan for it but I’ve given it more thought of late.
Ya’ll just don’t know me and are too damn quick to call me one thing.
Ya’ll don’t even have the ability to hear people anymore.
Yes. Canon can be changed and it’s not a big deal.
What the Canon is though is.
Don’t pretend it’s something else to justify your wants.
You do not need to justify them and you shouldn’t twist lore for that purpose.
Hell just look at my void list. Think all that is remotely lore friendly? None of it exists. None of it is covered. Does it maybe have some basis, sure why not. But at present it’s not lore by any means and I don’t have to claim such.
If you genuinely wanting a thing. Request it. Period.
Ya’ll fight and fight and fight and do nothing else.
On the “RP tools” sentiment confirmed player agency isn’t a bad thing it’s just making people feel better about how they see their characters but it starts and ends there.
Player agency exists on Blood Elves too, I’m using the golden eyes on my warlock as is, however we aren’t a Lightforged race my player agency for how I see my character as a failed priest starts and ends with my character.
How people see their VEs starts and ends with them but the race is still Void Elves and RP tools aren’t really justification for turning the race into how we see our characters we’re free to request but it ends there it’s not owed to anyone and people (either VE fans) or BE fans / people who value visual distinction are also free to request the opposite in the interests that they have.
I tend to love reading your posts and I really loved reading this one so thanks for that dearie.
Also.
Pink hair color for all races, better playable Nightborne model and more customizations for races that actually need it.
I totally agree, I consider this character a Holy Blood Elf Warlock which is somewhat lore breaking but I don’t really care, does that mean I feel I should have access to holy based demons, spells, etc. no but it’s still what I like to define my character as.
Because the current lore says that the only Void Elves to exist is Alleria Windrunner, and Umbric with his small group of followers. Get real there Fezzy. There is Silvermoon Scholars and High Elf Wayfarers that are studying the void, and it is possible for them to become Void Elves, without going through any transformation what so ever.
That’s funny we see our warlocks so similar! I don’t think of him as holy more of just a failed priest and only because I was debating on the character creation screen if I wanted a second priest or a warlock.
I do change my eye colors when I want but like if I was ever to get art done he would have golden eyes. Which for me it’s just not for me I’ve thought about it but like I’d rather get new clothes from lululemon, Nordstrom, there’s a Prada backpack I want (actually I had to put that backpack on hold because I’m buying clothes for my trip next month). I just reference the art thing to establish his eyes are golden lol regardless if I get bored in game and change them.
No. It is not.
A void elf is changed by their transformation into a void elf.
Be it Alleria or Umbric’s lot.
A transformation occurs.
This is absolutely all we have confirmed for them.
They are studying. Nothing more.
If they were void elves they wouldn’t be labeled as either high elf or blood elf either. They have not undergone the transformation into a void elf.
Could they? Sure. But that’s not what we currently actually have in the lore.
They should update the Rift to show that they are. But they haven’t.
Danuser says more are joining, we just don’t see it 100% in game. We do however see them arriving and of course the ones that are already there! Just because it’s not in game doesn’t mean it’s not canon though, since it’s what the lead narrative designer flat out said.
Those are certainly the individuals Danuser refers to in his quote/interview. And it absolutely IS possible for them to become a Void Elf without much transformation as shown already through Death Knights and Demon Hunters that are capable of only changing in their eyes when converted.
Additionally, there’s also the matter of this being about mostly hair and there’s already zero lore stopping them from getting the entirety of the hair options from Blood Elves. It’s just that side gatekeeping and ignoring the lore.
I used to be okay with Void Elves being given natural skin tones but it’s honestly just opened up a brand new can of worms where people just argue and argue and argue and it never seems good enough.
Scrap Void Elves! /s
There is zero lore stopping the Void Elves from looking like High or Blood Elves. They are a fresh new group of Thallasian Elves with a different name. They haven’t gone through thousands of years of mutation or anything.
But thanks for that information there, glad to hear more about the VE’s
Personally I think the only things that shouldn’t be brought over are the eyes and Paladin class.
I still think them being infused with Void should keep Light stuff from being brought over.
However, I’m not entirely opposed to giving them Fel colored eyes since we already know Void and Fel are compatible.
All that matters to me is the lore, and if the option is valid in the lore that is the only reason necessary for it to happen.
In hindsight Half Elves would have been better with a model change allowing them to be their own thing while Blood Elves remaining the playable High Elves, instead of people trying to change Void Elves.
Regardless player agency isn’t the flex they seem to think it is to justify more so idk they have what they have I suppose.
