Void Elf Hair

There seems to be a lot of talk about void elf hair lately and I wanted to start a discussion about it. It seems that Alliance players want to be able to choose from the hair colors that blood elves have, so that they can finally make high elves the way they want.

As someone who has played Alliance since my first character over ten years ago, I disagree. I personally feel like Blood Elves should have been put on the Alliance originally, but we are long past that now. It would be unfair to simply give most of the blood elf options to void elves. It would be like giving the Horde ability to make Nightborne that look like Night Elves, it would not feel fair.

I do however like the ability to make the skin color of a void elf, the same as a blood elf, and I think giving void elves and blood elves the blue eye option was a good middle ground to land on. I think for the hair issue, there is another middle ground that could be made.

Maybe give Void Elves the ability to separate the tentacles option from their hair as it takes away from the “High elf” feel. In regards to hair color, maybe give void elves the option to choose like a solid black color, that way they have at least one normal hair color to choose from.

Let me know what you guys think, hopefully this doesnt stir up too much of an argument, I know how passionate some Blood Elf/High Elf players get lol

I would just like a light blue color for my void elf

We’ve been told through an interview these additions are to make the high elf an option through either blood elves or void elves. For that to really work in full, void elves still need a few things, namely hair colors, and better hairstyles.

I think maybe the best way to go about it would be to go for blond, black, and white. Black and white already make sense on void elves. Blond is just the most iconic hair color for them as well. Let the blood elves keep the red and brown colors. I don’t mind if they even get purple from void elves as part of this.

As for Hairstyles, I think it’d be better to pull from Alliance races, race than Horde ones. Female void elves could use female Kul Tiran hairstyles as an example. Male void elves could draw from male Night Elves.

Do that and I’d say everything would be more or less good, as far as void elves getting high elf options goes.

Listen we NEED the blonde hair option for void elves along with the Paladin class and we will be fine.

Could you please cite that interview. I like to keep up on anything involving High Elves?

Should give void elves blonde hair option to be just like alleria. Blood elves deserve more though too I’m just unsure what. It’s not fair to them, and their new SL customization is rather boring atm.

While I’m entirely satisfied with skin tones (hair is usually hidden by cool helmets on the best mogs), it would be very nice if Blizzard also gave Void Elves normal hair color and style options.

Everyone knows Void Elves only exist at this point to give the Alliance back its own High Elf race. You know it. I know it. All the players and devs know it. Blizzard should do the right thing and allow Void Elves to be what they should have been from the start (High Elves).

I don’t think void elves should be given blond hair options. At that point its just a 100% copy of blood elves.

Void Elves are getting green eyes too? I didn’t know that.

The reason there seems to be a lot of talk about it is because people keep making their own threads about it. You don’t need to start a discussion about it. Just scroll down a little and join one of the 5 already going on :stuck_out_tongue:

thats exactly what they want tho. a carbon copy of blood elves. it was never about the lore of the 5 ‘high’ elves who lurk around in actual alliance territory

Honestly, I loathe to even reply to your entirety off-topic arguing but:

The only canonical gaslighting occurs in Silvermoon, where we see the Thalassian masses being brainwashed into accepting Horde membership.

Good day.

If you want blood elf hair play horde easy fix

No but they will both be able to have blue eyes and look exactly the same.

Nice try being cute. Could you try responding to me next time without a snarky attitude?

Not really? The funny thing is, almost all of the customization options blood elves are getting, is stuff high elf fans asked to set them apart from blood elves. Dark skin tones? Ear length options? Blue eyes? Even jewelry options were a request way back when it first began.

It’s no wonder blood elf fans aren’t happy with their customization. They’re getting a ton of stuff they never asked for, and none of the stuff they did ask for (dark ranger skins/eyes, tattoos, scars
)

Wasn’t trying to be cute. For a moment I honestly thought you meant green eyes had been datamined in a recent build. Even went to WoWHead to check.

How about we let void elves stay void elves instead of trying to completely overwrite the void part.

Don’t you already?

I am adamantly opposed to watering down the lines of distinction anymore than they have already.

That looks more grey to me, to be honest.
