Lore for them probably wont happen until all races are given Demon Hunter. I kinda went over that a few posts up if you want to read my thoughts.
I don’t think there is any lore that says they have lost the ability to make more demon hunters they just aren’t right now since the Legion is defeated and there isn’t much call for it.
Imagine though if the Fel’s version of the Eternal Ones were to make a play? That would be a good reason for the Illidari to start expanding.
These blood elves could serve as a link to potential new recruits (illidari or blood knight) but that’s just my opinion😁.
I think Blizzard should add lore to explain new classes or maybe just NPCs, especially for class/race combos that would need it (if they don’t, I wouldn’t be surprised🙃).
Its interesting to me as I give Demon Hunter more thought compared to Paladin, Shaman and Druid.
Theres a difference in implementation for me with these classes for void elf specifically.
For Paladin, Shaman and Druid I see that the lore would need to be written from its currently, lets call it, rigid format into one that works with the void.
For Paladins that would mean void knights, for shaman we’d have to cross the elements distaste for the void and have someone reach out and prove their(the races) worth to the elements… or go the bad way and be Dark Shaman but I don’t know that I want that for Void Elves. For Druid I find myself leaning towards void elves who have found power through the remnants of the nightmare and now work to keep it balanced within the dream so it doesn’t consume wildly and thus they maintain a type of druidic balance.
For Demon Hunter though… I don’t see the need for that. By the setup of the class (And that fel and void don’t have many issues with one another.) they would be void elves leaving us and joining the Illidari. They’d be outliers going to take on an additional power to fight their particular battles, I assume against a great threat, like the other Illidari.
Finally learned a way to make a far better looking tendril effect + more easily rig pieces like tentacles, so it’s time to start adding tentacles to hairstyles!
Ported 2 LFD and 2 Draenei Hairstyles today, so when I give them all the tentacle treatment I shall share them here! In the meantime a quick mock up of how this will end up looking.
And indeed, nape tentacles really do work for most hairstyles; I really like the idea of a nape tendril option within the facial hair or as a separate thing, that way you can add them to any hairstyles.
Hairstyle really is one of those options that changes your look so much and I really wish overall there were just more options. Sharing a set of hairstyles with members of your faction would add so much variety.
I think some of my favorite hairstyles we already have mostly have them coming from the nape or thereabouts.
I do hope we can find hairstyles down the line that are new and follow similar concepts to these as well. Where the tentacles come from a few more interesting locations as well or within the hair.
I agree, I feel like also that we have seen them making VE DH cards in Hearthstone is another key that VE will gain DHs.
From a logistical standpoint, it’ll be like the first class to be given to VEs since it’s already working with animations of the Thalassian model (BEs), this saves a lot of time/effort to giving its access to VEs.
I like your idea of Nightmare Druids, same for Void Knights, and Dark Shamans. I think overall what we will need in place from a lore standpoint is more of what we saw with Calia speaking to Sin’dane in Maldraxxus where Sin’dane explained how Necromancy is Necromancy regardless of any magic.
I think with the Void being shown of capable of Necromancy like in BFA, and also healing (with spells like Shadowmend or even a Rogue’s ‘rejuvenating shadows’ abilities). It appears Blizzard is slowly expanding upon each magic and what they’re capable of.
I very much enjoy dressing up my Paladins in DK esque gear or making them look like Dark Knights of sorts or anything along the lines of ‘Dark Magic’ esque vibes, so it would be really awesome if there becomes a way that this is do-able for many magics such as Light, the Elements, and Druidism etc.
We see the Drust druids forms with KT druids, so it’ll be neat to see the explanations Blizzard gives for when those sorts of classes get added to Void Elves.
Will get to them eventually! I wanna do all races in time, but only have the BE/VE model rigged for testing. But when I’m done with VE’s, I’m jumping into the female model!
Amazing thoughts. I really like some of the customization ideas for void elves, and for the other races. Having more options is always better for something to be unique, and our characters are no different. The new races show this, and the old ones could use some love. I hope someone reads this, and sees people want this type of thing.
I always really wanted to be able to go back and do old content for mogs. This is not always possible as they are too hard solo, or too complicated. That’s my one-cent into the thought pile. Make old content mogs easier to obtain. There are people who like to mog-hunt in their spare-time. This would add things to do for the solo-player, or small-groups.
Good post, and hope it makes a change in the wow-world!
I was thinking void monsters like these void hounds for bear form, but some kind of void reskin like what they did with the hawkstrider mount would be cool too https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Void_hound?file=Shad%2527har_the_Insatiable.jpg
