That may be for the best in terms of this particular point.
This thread should be about the void options for void elves, so it would be nice if the discussion could return to being on topic.

No. Long hair absolutely is integral to their aesthetic. That is why they need the push more than others right now because without it they cannot be a high elf, they will always just be a void elf, and let’s be real, very few people even want that.
High elves are incredibly popular, giving the people this small thing they want would make many people happy.
Just because you do not think so does not indicate it’s not true.
Just because you don’t want to believe it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
Do you not think Blood Elf players, as an example, would be happy by being given more options?
Same goes with your fixation on High Elf options. Despite how much you claim they should take precedence over other races getting options, that’s just your opinion at the end of the day.
Your desires aren’t more important than anyone else’s in terms of things you’d like to see added to the game.
Blood elves have plenty of options. They have nearly double the hair options of void elves. They can share at the very least a few of the high elf notable styles. The ones you see on the npc’s in Dalaran, and those within the silver covenant. After all, they are also alliance, and alliance deserves the options of those within their faction.
I just want to actually be able to play my high elf as it should be. The other races are still fine. Maybe some miss long hair options as you say, but they aren’t core to their identity the same way as it’s core to high elves. So players can be happy playing their race without it, but a high elf player will not be. I find that to be the difference here.
Blood Elf styles are objectively lower quality in terms of texture and model quality, regardless of whether or not you personally prefer them.
Blood Elves have shared enough with Void Elves already while getting nothing in return.
Do you actually play other races that you explicitly believe are completely fine in terms of options, or are you just saying this to dismiss the desires of others so you can have your thing first?
Many other high elf fans seem happy with the options currently available. I’m not claiming they wouldn’t like more, but many seem to be reasonably satisfied with their male high elf void elves.
I’ve already stated above why I don’t, but if you want to keep this particular discussion thread going, it would probably be for the best if “high elf options for void elves” was its own topic.
I’m not saying this to try and shoo you away. It would be easier to keep track of the discussion in general if that was the explicit topic of the thread it was being posted in.
I’ll just leave it with this then. At least those other races are finished and playable. High elves are just a pseudo portion of the void elf race. They only half exist. It isn’t really asking for so much to want that extra push for them to be fully realized. Right now, I don’t consider high elves to be a completed race at all. Every other race in my opinion is complete. They could get extra, but they are finished. When you pick a goblin, you’re playing a goblin. It has goblin options, and they all fit a goblin. There isn’t a way to make a goblin, not a goblin. But that isn’t the way with high elves. They are very much pushed back and left on the sidelines, and I don’t want that. Asking for a completed race before they go and work on other races is a fully acceptable position in my book.
Blood elves will get more in the future. Just finishing high elves now is the play, and then after work on diversifying them. But you can’t diversify them if one of them isn’t complete, now can you?
Most people are upset with the males. The females no matter what have better hair options for the high elf appearance than males. That is just a fact. Why can’t it be made more even?
Circling back to this again, based on my previous mockup, I made a concept for an Entropic Embrace option based off Alleria’s. I also applied a purple shade to the gear, similar to Priest’s Shadowform but without the ghostly transparent effect.

This.
Bothers me immensely when people try to claim that Void Elves haven’t been involved in two passes now. We may have only gotten high elf options for the most part but we still got options. Options many have been all too happy to incorporate even if they are more pro void elf than they are pro helf.
Denying that we got two runs already just because it wasn’t what you (royal you) wanted is ridiculous.
Does it suck for those of us that wanted Void Options more than High Elf ones? Sure. Of course it does. It wasn’t what we wanted specifically.
Does that mean it didn’t happen? No. It happened. We’ve had two passes. Move on.
This isn’t directed at you or anyone particularly. Just something I see so often and it grates on my nerves.
Also obligatory Wildhammer were done dirty. They’re not Bronzebeard dwarves and anyone who thinks that “Dwarf” accounts for all dwarves you’re just wrong and even you know that.
This.
Red Eyes while cool and all is Dark Ranger stuff.
It doesn’t help Void Elves to request that. It doesn’t add to us. Folk asking for Dark Rangers or San’layn (I know these weren’t mentioned but I’m tossing them in cause they do the same thing.) on Void Elves are just asking to dilute us further from what we are. Its adding two more subraces to a race already divided into two.
Dark Rangers and San’layn do not make more Void Elf lore. High Elves do not make more Void Elf Lore. It lessens us.
If you’re seeking something more akin to the Void like N’zoth styled eyes with red tints to them then sure. We’ve seen plenty of examples of that in the void creatures. (Plus its cool as hell.)
These eyes provide several options along those lines.
But the red of Dark Rangers? Of Sylvanas (pre-soul-purification or whatever)? Those are not things we’ve seen hide nor hair of representation with the void. Death, yes. Void, no.
This thread is about void elf options. Its about the Void theme for Void Elves.
Its not about high elves. Its not about San’layn. Its not about Dark Rangers.
Damn he looks good actually…
Really like this. Having our tattoos change (if we get any) would be a nice touch during EE. Also a few color tint options to make it easier on some peoples eyes and for some variety would be wonderful.
I’m unsure that Blizzard would include racial edits or options during a customization pass but its definitely worth talking about.
Yes! I’ve been bummed since VEs came out that they were the only AR of the first four with no tattoos. Sadly I have to make do by literally equipping an old Legion leather chest on my Hunter just to get some arm tats. And for my face I’m just outta luck.
There’s a mail chest with tats too, but those ones don’t play as nice with EE, and I love the elbow armour this leather one comes with.
Me too, though given the model was virtually the same as the blood elves at the time they had better have tossed tattoos to them too then.
I wish transmog was released of the arbitrary requirements. I get a clothie not wearing armor they’re unable to equip… But like… If you can wear plate and leather and mail and cloth… Why can’t you transmog it.
Even then why not just open the gate?
Armor doesn’t really mean anything now.
Really nice for Wildhammer though.
I used to use Dragonrider’s Harness on my Wildhammer, but I prefer to just go shirtless and have the Wildhammer tats directly.

While I would like to be able to just mog whatever you can equip, it does skew grossly in favour of plate wearers, and to the stunning detriment of cloth wearers. Clothies would gain literally nothing from such a change, which is wildly unfair.
IMO they should just remove the armour restrictions in general. NPCs have ignored it forever, and Gul’dan’s iconic hood is just Rogue tier, despite the fact that he’s the iconic Warlock.
Add to that that a lot of the gear is just giant spikey stuff that doesn’t really look like anything other than “gigantic armourish stuff” and there’s really not much point to it.
Me too. Though I’ve deleted six Wildhammer now… It doesn’t feel right to me with bronzebeard racials.

Yeah. I fully agree.
I offered the other option more as a compromise step but there is so little reason to keep the transmog limits.
This will be a bit of an odd post…
Anyone know where this is from or who made it?
Went looking today and my search literally linked to this thread. -_-
Oh, these look very familiar.
The name of the artist escapes me at the moment, though.
Yes, that’s quality.
Some people might be only considering new things like New Haircuts or Tattoos a actual pass?
I would call it a “Light Pass” as apposed to a “Full Pass” since it did require some actual work to make the things in question available to players. (Adding Underwear to the Skins/Adding the Hair Textures/Menu Options for Hair, Akin, and Eye colors/Toggle Button) and the things are NEW to the race in question.
So Small Pass but still a Pass.
Thank you!
Well, we didn’t get new hair styles like literally every other race to get a pass, so I guess I can see where you’re coming from.
Even still, we did get quite a bit, and were included in two passes.
The passes may seem small. The work may seem to be lesser than some others.
But the impact of those passes far surpasses most races alone.
I get what you mean, of course, but it drives me nuts when people seriously say we didn’t get a pass yet.
There are other races I play that I would kill for as much as Void Elves have gotten.
Small passes yes. Still a pass. The effect of those small passes though? Monumental.
There are two main groups of people on this.
The people who want to put Dark Rangers/San’layn stuff on Void Elves so they don’t “Corrupt” their Blood Elves.
The people who want to “Take” something Horde players want as a petty revenge.
That’s one main reason I do not endorse the “Red Eyes for Void Elves!” request.
I have more complaints about it but I will leave it at that… for now.
Those are much more in context.
Though I would hope eyes themed after an old god of some sort would have some lore. It would be like Night Warrior Eyes with no explanation.
So something like a Star Cursed/Deep Void Eyes would work better as an added Customization and old god-ish ones for future lore developments IMO
But that may be me still being salty about the Subrace Options added not getting real full explanations or story.
I would def like it as an option to have them change in EE or have you be able to pick Glowy/Non-Glowy to have all the time if not both.
You do amazing work.
