Only the females. The males have literally no options to look like a single high elf npc that we’ve seen around. So it’s unfair and uneven. I agree the females somewhat can. But I am a guy, I play male characters. I cannot look like any high elf I’ve ever seen.
No, it means canonically you’re playing a Dwarf. It could be a Wildhammer, it could be a Bronzebeard wearing the tattoos. That’s the point.
That is literally the whole point I was making.
I would love that, but a model toggle won’t happen. No race has more than one silhouette (unless you count the slight change of the Orc hunch toggle, or Worgen’s non-combat only human form).
That is the only way darkfallen will ever be added. Darkfallen are undead, aka forsaken. They are just elf forsaken. But, forsaken as a name is also inclusive. It doesn’t say forsaken human, just forsaken. It’s very possible to add forsaken elves as an option, and it would make more sense. Imagine seeing an undead elf paladin. It doesn’t work. Forsaken though have no pallies. it fits better.

No, you were saying you’re canonically a Wildhammer. There is no canon anymore. Blizzard’s stance is “use your imagination”.

I’m on board with that too. Whatever gets them playable on the Horde.
You didn’t read anything I just said. I said males have no option to look like high elves. We literally don’t. All of our options are just edgy and do not fit. So how is that fair? Why is it bad of me to demand more high elf hair when the females have it but we don’t? Why is it only they can somewhat fulfill the fantasy?
Besides, even then their hair is wavy and wicked looking. It still looks off from the normal high elf you see on the left. I can definitely tell which is high elf which is void elf. High elf left, void elf right.

I posted that before you brought up males specifically.

I never said it was.
Well see. Still. Nothing to that, huh? Just cause females can somewhat (But not really, still wicked and wavy looking) look like one, the other half of the race can’t. So there’s this huge divide now, and it’s even more unfair.

My hair doesn’t look wicked in this colour. It looks messy, like a Ranger.

There are void elf male hairstyles that work. Just look at Nico’s current appearance.
It’s barely passable. But there’s no long, elegant options. Legit none of their options look anything even remotely similar to the high elves npc’s we see around. Females at least get something somewhat similar.
And even females get really no long, elegant looks. Nothing clean, and proper that is custom to the more normal high elven cultures. For you, you have to have a very specific fantasy to make yours work.
And even females get really no long, elegant looks.
Neither do blood elf females actually. Void elf females pull off long and elegant better than blood elf females. Just look at Melancholy, or Consuming with tentacles toggled off.
Again, I’m not saying don’t ask for more styles. I’m just saying it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be.
Female belves don’t have many long elegant looks either, and not nearly enough braids.
They look clean though, and very proper.
It’s mostly the males that have long hair like that. it’s very iconic for them. It’s damn near mandatory for a high elf to have a long hair option like that to even be considered a high elf. It’s their whole thing. But void elves get none of that. So it’s lost. The high elf options aren’t enough.
and not nearly enough braids
To be fair, void elves don’t have any braids. That’s a discussion for another topic though.

While I’m not saying this guy looks like any of the high elf NPCs, he looks suitably like a high elf. Just a bit older and more wizened looking than might be standard.

I want more braids for everyone.
That widows peak just ruins it. Is that a high elf or is it freaking vegeta? I can’t take a widows peak seriously on a high elf. They’d never let that happen, even an old one.
Is that a high elf or is it freaking vegeta?
Well, he can go Super Saiyan.
Well, if a widow’s peak ruins it for you, your options become mid-length at the longest. Not an ideal situation if you wanted longer hair, but a lot of races don’t have the options that they want, so it’s not really different to Blizzard’s aversion to adding options in general.
But it does matter, because as I said, long hair like that, that isn’t widows peaked, is part of the core identity of a high elf. And if that isn’t present, it needs to be fixed.
But it does matter
And other races lacking options also matters to the players who care about them.

Core identity? No, I don’t think their hair is their core identity. Is it visually indicative of them? Sure, but they look basically exactly like Blood Elves, so…
And if that isn’t present, it needs to be fixed.
There’s a lot of things that aren’t present that need to be added. High Elves don’t need it more than anyone else.
Ok, I think we’ve talked about high elves enough here. May I suggest creating an Alleria style / high elf customization options for void elves thread?
