Voiceover audio fails in cutscenes then breaks game audio

same. i reset it, tried twice, broken. restarted the game, tried again and it skipped the scene entirely. I didn’t get to watch it at all!

So I was still having this issue until I did the ‘Scan and Repair’ option in launcher; haven’t had an issue since.

Just tried ‘Scan and Repair’ and it did not fix the issue, must be something else.

Same issue here. Only a restart brings back the audio. That is, until the next cutscene is being played then I once again have no voiced audio until next restart.

Same issue with the last couple of cutscenes. Restarting “fixes” it but then I’ve missed the cutscene.

Same issue here…no voiced dialogue in cutscenes, then no NPC voicelines afterward. Exit…restart…issue is fixed until the next cutscene, then it’s “rinse and repeat.” If not for the subtitles, I wouldn’t know what’s going on in the cutscenes. All other sound works, just not the voices.

Same issue as well, it was fine during main story questing when I was leveling up, but the end-game chapters completely break my audio until I exit game for a minute and rejoin back. Unfortunately, it just breaks again with another cutscene… At first I thought it was just me until my friend had it happen too.

Though at least if any of you have alts and you want to fully experience it with no sound bugs, you can replay it when it (hopefully) gets fixed in a later hotfix.

+1 Stormrooks training questline started to mute everything for me today. Restart the game and sound is back until a new cutscene, then the cutscene is mute of voice acting and all npc’s afterwards are mute with no greeting ect. on clicking.

Same issue on both.

Still an issue this morning. Just tried The Edicts again and abandoned after the cutscene broke.

Same story here. Really takes the wind out of the sails on the quest.

Same issue for me

No voices during cutscenes, no voices when interacting with NPC’s, greetings, etc.

On top of the 20 other things broken with this expac. it’s clear they were NOT ready to release lol.

And these are not just “minor” bugs, these are dealbreakers for many. Get it together Blizz.

EDIT: ALL Dialogue settings in Options are already enabled.

I have also been experiencing the issue.

I have what must be a related issue but it’s the exact opposite problem. I ONLY get character dialogue now – all other sound is gone. It started yesterday after the cutscenes in Ahn-Karet about placing spy modules on the tops of towers (before the kill the loyalist quests with only like 3 loyalists).

Restarting does not fix the issue – I hear the first three bars of the login music and then all sound stops again. Getting rid of cache and wtf folders did not resolve it either.

It tried happening to me for the cutscene when you first get through the causeway and the machine speaker talks to the high speaker. I abandoned the quest and reaccepted it from where she was to watch the cutscene cause the first time it glitched, I was stuck in position at the entrance not able to move, and I heard the audio playing.

I also use the musician mod which increases audio bit rate past where the slider in WoW is capable of, so maybe that’s what saved my audio. But that was the only cutscene that botched for me on its own.

Still broken after Tuesday maintenance.

Still broken after Wednesday maintenance.

Still broken after Thursday maintenance.

Maybe Friday maintenance will fix it?

Yup got it too, only fix is to exit out of game completely and log back in. I think I’ll just level some alts or something until this gets fixed, didn’t think it would bug me that much but it keeps happening over and over again whenever there is an in-game cutscene. Really takes you out of the moment.

Same problem, cutscenes kill dialog audio until restart. Checked my settings, shouldnt be a problem. Only have two addons, bagnon and classicui.

I guess I’ll just abandon my completed ‘The Queen’s Chains’ quest and wait for a fix… This happened with the last set of campaign quests and you would think it would have been addressed before the next set. But no…

Oh well. I guess I’m expecting too much of Blizzard when this is a brand new bug that has never happened before and must be presenting them with a major technical chall- wait, what’s that? This happened during Dragonflight too?
