Today with the new chapter of the campaign I started training stormrooks and whatnot. In two of the cutscenes I watched the voice audio failed. I could hear sound-effects but not voices. After exiting the cutscenes all voice audio was broken, like talking to npcs and not hearing their greet and exit vo. The only fix for this is to exit WoW completely and re-enter.
The Edicts quest was one. I can’t remember the name of the other but it was when Rooktender Lufsela channels into the conduit to call the stormrooks for the first time.
I abandoned The Edicts and tried again, and the cut-scene broke again. 100% reproducible from two tries.
This started happening at the end of Dragonflight for me and continues now. Not all cutscenes are affected, but when they are, it is really annoying since all voice audio is broken across the game and I have to restart.

same here, i did the lufsela conduit quest and i killed the elementals very quickly and spoke to her while the old dwarf had a voice line so i do not know if that has something to do with it

Just reported same bug. Didn’t see this post first, sorry.

Same issue here. No NPCs speak, even guards, vendors, etc. are all broken, even after a restart.

+1, fixed on a restart though.
Same issue here on both quest cut scenes. Happened on two different computers at the same time (my partner was playing in the other room). Partner’s PC has no addons at all, so it’s not addons. This also happened to me, and a few of my friends, during the War Within intro quest chain as well, in Silithus, in the Heart cutscene.

+1 Also occurred in mission leading up to quest “Rouge Agent”
Happened to me in the exact same quest line. I missed the voice acting for a huge chunk of this quest. Same thing happened again during the Campaign Quest where you’re finding out about the ascended spider people.
Had this happen twice. First on “Rook Rally” quest and then “The Edicts” at the Proscenium quest. Had to exit the game completely to fix it.

Yep, same thing happened with me yesterday on the Stormrook quest in the max level campaign, and again with one of the max level Weaver quests that plays an in-game cinematic after a quest that plays the animated short “The Threads of Destiny” (don’t remember the quest name as I already logged out). Animated short was fine, it was the in-game cinematic that was borked. Had to exit the game entirely to restore voiceovers. Kinda annoying.
Been a problem for 2 days now. I keep checking back in on The Edicts to see if it’s fixed and then abandoning the quest when I find that it isn’t.

Until you enter a cutscene again.
I’m having the exact same issue. I removed all addons (not just disabled) and it worked for a whlle then broke again.
Same, it’s driving me insane!! I’m missing out on the awesome voice acting and it’s making me not want to play until they fix this so I don’t miss anything

Same.
I was hoping today’s maintenance would fix it, but guess not.
Same here. Hard to follow the story when none of the cutscenes have dialogue. There’s audio, like music, but absolutely no dialogue.

Same issues. started yesterday (8/27/24) and still no dialog sound today. Ive tried turning on and off all sound settings, reloading ui after every change. nothing.
