Voice acted Quests

We deserve voice acted quests in World of Warcraft this would, enhance the immersion and storytelling of the game. Instead of just reading text, players would hear characters speak, giving quests more personality and emotional depth. This would make the world feel more alive, as players could connect better with NPCs and the storylines. It would also help players experience the narrative more dynamically, making questing more engaging and memorable.

I just want to know when AI will be involved to where quest givers call my character by their actual name instead of “champion” or “outlander”.

I love the idea of voice acted quests!

There are good AI addons that give voice acting to the TWW.

‘VoiceOver-Mod 2.0’ with ‘VoiceOver Sounds - War Within’ are the two mods I use for adding voices to quests. The voices sound like the npcs.

‘Chatty Little NPC’ has a generic AI voice for every expansion.

All are available on curse gaming addon website

To be fair, Champion/Commander/Maw-walker/Hero are all synonyms for Helpermonkey in this context.

It’s usually very badly done especially in WoW, so honestly, no I want less of it.

Many other Mmo Rpgs have voice acting without mods. I think Blizzard should keep up with the times. Warcraft 3 was completely voice acted. Granted Warcraft 3 is a smaller project but Blizzard is not hurting on resources.

It’s become obvious at this point that the main cast doesn’t know our characters name but we’ve known each other so long it’d be too awkward to ask.

If Blizzard gave you a way to toggle voice acting on and off I do not see a reason you should be bothered.

I don’t think I realized it when I was a babby Guuah, but voice acting is so important. As annoyingly yappy as those talking heads are I appreciate the voice acting work folks do.

My favorite RPG growing up was Valkyrie Profile. A lot of it is fully voice acted in combat and in game, and it really adds a lot to it. Is the voice acting always good? Well–

–no. But this is PS1 era we’re talking about. Comparing it to FF7 which has no voice acting, heck, FF10 was the first game to include it, just hearing people have actual conversations instead of just lines of text added so much.

I get that! Voice acting really brings games to life. Even with some rough moments, it adds so much compared to just text. Voice acting can be a game changer!

The backlash from AI voice overs would be intense.

Omg, you are asking for AI voices and don’t realize it. Voice acting in wow is just awful for the most part.

Liam O’brien was so good.

I wish they’d hire more high caliber VA’s like him.

There used to be an add-on that had voice acting. Blizz disabled it.

Not really.

Voice acted quests are usually best for character-driven plots/games instead of the typical MMO, even-driven plots. There isn’t a single character in WoW that would be interesting to hear word for word.

You have not lived until you have heard the voice acting for “Resident Evil” on the OG PS1.

Horrific and glorious at the same time.

I am not asking for Ai voices. I want traditional voice acting!
