Iād take devastation being relevant in high end content before aesthetics.
āhigh end contentā is a very loose term and depending on your view what qualifies for said content, the majority of classes are not relevant for it (while I also think thats an issue, its not for this thread).
personally Iāve come to play this game mainly to have fun, and looking awesome is part of that fun. Am really enjoying Drakthyr playstyle and just wish weād get more visage forms to choose from and maybe also the ground hover mount option.
tl:dr: You are right, balance could be better, but in this thread we want to look awesome with freedom of visage <3

I just want to be able to do my gathering using Soar, which is a lot of landing and taking off again. I have the skills to gather while mounted, so having those apply to my Dracthyrās āmountā form would be nice.
Could be awesome to have a kind of grace period when ālandingā with soar before it cancels, so you wouldnt have to wait ten seconds at every gathering node for the cooldown to come back up.
Like you turn into a kind of hover for five seconds after which you ādismountā from soar.
When they first announced evoker, I thought it would be exactly like this ā¦
While I agree 100%, it shouldnt be too hard to make an option for the barber shop to change your race appearance, especially since we have the groundwork done already with druid and warlock customizations.
Our Visage is what Neltharion chose for us.
Thatās why it is a non specific human-elf humanoid.

Pretty sure the Quest to learn visage form doesnt say that, I could be very wrong though.
They could easily implement a two stage quests that goes something like āYouāve experienced the wonders of the world with all the different races enabling you to pick a visage form of your choosingā making it canon and everyone could be happy.

Dragon can choose because they are born a dragon.
Dracthyr are not born but created, all abilities were given to us by Neltharion. Visage is an ability. Therefore Neltharion gave us these forms.
Ebyssian and Wrathion both say it differs from normal visages
Itās not like neltharion hand picked abilities to give/exclude.
What do you think being artificially created means?
Throw a bunch of magic from each of the flights into a pot and mix it with human potential and hope for the best
I doubt that for creating the perfect soldier was done at random.

And that shows that dracthyr were more a design than put together by random.
