Viking Mog

To all those still interested, applying the ‘Antiseptic-Soaked Dressing’ in the shirt slot makes him look wounded.

Thoughts?

I think he looks better without, personally. But as you can probably tell, I have a soft spot for barechested beefcakes.

You just enjoy his biceps free and breathing?

Absolutely. Let the Horde know that while you may wield a club and a shield, all dwarves carry a pair of powerful guns as well.

Viking helmets did not have horns. This is a myth perpetuated by video games, cartoons and movies. Check out Vendel period stuff, a little earlier than the Viking Age but looks awesome. The helms were amazing, H hilted swords and ornate gold/enameling hilt work and jewelry.

I was aware of this misconception, but, as you stated, in a game where no one will advantageously pull the horns and snap my neck, it is still a pretty badass look.

@Tarksis, those helms are absolutely stunning. Rounded with a beautiful eyepiece.

Well, for starters vikings didn’t have horns on their helmets.

Really not what this thread needed.

Did they have huge tusks on their shoulders too?

Ah, I was about to say anything WOTLK. That helm looks like it was from there.

aren’t you a little short for a viking?

Nope, have to lose those also if we’re going traditional.

@Cladis You’re a special kind of dull. If you aren’t going to contribute, please, just leave.

@Inema, Short? HA. Short = Low center of gravity = excellent balance.

Go on, try and push me over.

@Kypookins, I like the way you think

I did contribute. I pointed out that vikings didn’t wear helmets with horns. So if you want a traditional viking mog, as your OP brought up, then you are headed down the wrong road. If you want a cartoon’ish viking mog then sure, keep headed down the road you’re on.

Here’s the thing pal.

This is World of Warcraft. Whilst I could very well go as traditional as it gets, ‘traditional’, as the word was used here, was in reference to trying not to go over the top with gear that emits color and outrageous special effects.

Every single person here understood what traditional meant in this particular case. You’re very simply content using a word to it’s exact denotation at the cost of any situational common sense.

Pretty unoriginal of you.

Hm…

Again, brilliant display of common sense.

Read a little and you’d see why a helmet with horns was my choice over one without.

Since you’re so set on helping make my mog, what helmet can you show me that looks as traditional as that for a plate user?

I get it, you want to look cool. But that’s not traditional.

For Mail though. I’ll look for another later.

Well, it needs to be plate. I guess I’ll have to stick to my untraditional helmet…

To recap though, the word traditional was put in there to prevent people from showing a mog with lava flowing from the shoulders or nonsense like that.

Everyone else understood except you and that other guy.

Why is that?

The word you’re looking for is “stereotypical.”

As for me noticing this? What do you want me to say? I’m just correcting what you said

Traditional would work equally well when put into a perspective like I’ve done.

What myself and the others not concerned about a word have built is a mog that isn’t colorful or outrageous, just a slightly more buffed version of a stereotypical viking, as you stated.

It is more traditional than what I was hoping to avoid though, so I don’t see where your problem is.

Besides, I still don’t see any gear proposed as support of your argument.
