Looking to stick as traditional as possible in terms of a viking mog for a Dwarf Pally.

Helmet with horns, little on the torso, fur cape, round shield etc.

What ideas does anyone have of items, and where are they obtainable?

Forgive me the fearful image, fair dwarf, as unfortunately the only screenshots submitted feature tauren and human mog models, of which the human better illustrates the idea, but neither is as well-suited to the warhelm as yourself.

I’m a big fan of that one, myself. There’s a PvP plate set from Draenor that has some nice parts, the Warmongering Gladiator’s set. I’ve got parts of it equipped on my warrior:

I’m not 100% sure that’s the right set on Wowhead, since there’s no screenshot, but it’s definitely all from the Warlords PvP vendor and is good for fill-in pieces.

Nobility is not as intrinsic to our racial reality, good dwarf, as would be hoped for, but must instead be evidenced in our regular rapport. Ergo, I’ll allow you to adjudicate that aspect in your own careful consideration.

As to your inscrutable inquiry regarding your regal countenance and its burgeoning beard, according to, at least, the Wowhead dressing room, your flowing facial hair should flutter uninhibited. I posit also this screenshot of an alternative race (given Grathok’s gregarious nature in providing green-skinned comparisons) for confirmation:

I’m a big fan of the dwarf set, myself, though I kinda like the bartered helm better for the gritty viking look (even though historical vikings never actually wore horned helms), whereas the dwarf set’s helm is a grand fit for high-fantasy hole-diggers.

The rest of the armor, though, with the fur fauld, wide belt and hobnailed boots might fit well for other pieces along with the helm, but that’s probably a matter of Thassarius’ preference in the end.

This is perfectly put. The helm recommended by my dear Blood Elf poet and exotic linguist is slightly more rusting and hardened, which fits a little more. I need the Heritage Armor though, stop making me jelly please :’(

You’ll get there, mate; it’s well-worth the bother of unlocking, probably my favorite heritage armor after the blood elf one that Calenaur is sporting. I probably went through about six different viking-themed mogs for that warrior I linked earlier, as I went through the levels, because I’d find more bits I liked better or couldn’t equip until higher levels.

I’m pulling for you, we’re all in this together.

There’s another one that I forgot if you want a simpler design (still not a circle, though), the baseline Steelforged Shield:

Or one that’s round that I just saw in the Icy Veins list but have never actually seen before (probably because I’ve never done the Stonetalon quest that rewards it, as it’s Alliance-only), the Shield of Control from Schemin’ That Sabotage:

No idea how big that one is in comparison to what you’re looking for, but it’s rugged and round, so there’s that.

I believe in all honesty I will enjoy an unorthodox design more seeing as Blizz have issues making rounds shields large enough to protect a Dwarf’s nose.

I think one of the two you recommended will definitely be it Grathok

Here’s an interesting shield… it’s not so much a viking shield as it is a dwarven shield (it is large enough to protect you fully, while still being roundish):
