Video of the Vanish Bug

This isn’t a vanish bug. This is a stuck in combat bug that we’ve all encountered in Classic. I’ve been chased across an entire zone by mobs who never leash correctly.

Gaining traction! 10k views and counting.

If blizzard doesn’t start fixing these bugs they are going to lose players to private servers who honestly did it better without asking for $15 per month

Still not working and phase two is right around the corner. Bump!

Zero communication. Shameful.

HELLO EVERYONE. i had this recently explained to me by a good rogue player.

Vanish works in 2 steps. firstly, its an aoe threat drop, secondly it enters you in stealth. Every mob regardless of lvl, has 1 percent chance to resist a spell. what is happening here, is that the vanish is being resisted. I know that there is basically 0 explanation for this but it is how it works. The same also happens to hunters using feign death.

No, vanish has and never been able to be resisted.

Your friend is very incorrect.

There is no display “enemy resisted” feign death. There is no chance for enemies to resist feign death.

Also you are completely wrong about that 1% chance to resist a “spell.” Vanish isn’t a spell used on another player; thus it can’t be resisted.

Also, try fighting a mob 10 levels higher than you as a mage and saying it is only a 1% chance to resist a spell.

I ran into this bug a few times before I decided to just do the pick pocketing runs naked. It’s a crappy bug but at least you can minimize the penalty to just a run back into the instance.

And this is still very much happening…

The “fix” i found is to sprint and take distance before vanish >.< because it’s not that vanish don’t drop the aggro, the problem is that the mobs swings are so delayed that they hit after the vanish and break the stealth.

This even happens in pvp when you use vanish on hunter/warlock pets. Not as often as mobs or guards but still equally frustrating.

Just had the same thing happen to me in BRD.

I sprinted away and made sure I was a good distance before vanishing, but they didn’t seem to care at all and kept chasing me. I even prep vanished after that and they still didn’t care.

Edit: also there were no dogs or mobs with truesight

Vanish is still broken.

Not sure what’s worse, the vanish bug or the energy regeneration bug.

Activision doesn’t give a bloody sh*t.
It’s still the same buggy mess of a game months after release.

This is absolutely embarrassing for a multi billion dollar company and shows they just wanna milk this as much as possible.

I started only logging in for raids 2 weeks ago for a reason…

It felt so good to play some different game that was actually fun. FUN.

I found myself cursing and being frustrated a lot more than I actually have fun.

Fix your bloody game WE PAY for!!!

Think we could actually fix Vanish? or are you too busy making new vanity pets to sell in the store?

Here’s some more video evidence which shows how buggy stealth/vanish are right now:

So I vanish only JUST before the mob autoattacks me which, although it is annoying asf, is an ‘intended bug’ since it was in Classic.

But what’s weird here is that I actually re-enter stealth when usually I get taken out immediately. Something is definitely wrong with the way stealth and vanish work.

What I cant figure out is this…

Why is “Stealth” so damn responsive as if it’s got a 1ms batch to the server where as all the other in game abilities have a 800 to 1200 ms batch (full batch PVE / PVP depending)

Example, my freezing trap does not immediately break on damage like it’s suppose too. Neither does rogue blind, sap, gouge, mage sheep, succubus seduce, etc, etc, etc… Break on damage effects in PVP are delayed by darn near a whole global…

Where as Stealth on the other hand, fart into the wind and that thing breaks instantly without any delay at all whatsoever.

PS I was rooting for you and hope you had a health pot that was looking grim.
