Has there ever been a toy, mount, or pet with an interactable component that was only usable by the owner?
This isn’t about semantics.
Heroic and Epic show the set.
Base does not.
Heroic and Epic mention getting a mount and a quest from said mount.
Base does not.
It’s not the players’ jobs to assume Blizzard is lying about availability of an item.
Players don’t deserve to finally get an official statement on this months after preorders begin and Blizzard’s already made their dough with little incentive to fix this due to their refund policies.
It’s not the players’ jobs to read into the technicalities of what ISN’T said in promotion material AND fine print. Because this wasn’t mentioned in either.
This is sloppy. It’s disgusting. It reflects the changes we’ve seen in Blizzard.
Argue that the players are wrong until you’re blue in the face if you want. It doesn’t make your stance correct, and it certainly doesn’t make this decision by Blizzard correct.
I just requested an automated refund via their site and was given a refund immediately. I had purchased the heroic edition for the tmog set as I thought that you needed the heroic edition to get the quest.
Will just purchase the standard edition now and save myself $30. And I didnt have to redo the quest for the tmog.
A character that I used the 120 boost on had a lock icon next to it and I needed to buy a $80 boost if I wanted to play it but since I wasnt planning to play that toon anyway I just deleted that character. Also lost the mount which I didnt care for anyway.
Alls well that ends well I get my tmog set and saved $30 AUD
Eh, the quest doesn’t hurt much if you farm lots and lots of spare parts for Mecha Done.
The real question is what worth does the set have if everyone can just buy it. thoughts
I’m just here to say hi to Taliesin.
Just make the quest giving npc (thin Kultiran model) playable in character customization
Quoted for truth.
The quest giver that summons from the mount, add that character model, he’s a thin Kultiran
Where can you turn the quest in if you don’t have the mount ?
As I understand it, you’d need someone who has the mount to use the mount, then click on the back of the mount (behind the saddle). This spawns the quest giver.
Oh great… gotta see who in my friends list has the mount now . Ok thanks for the info.
If you’ve not found anyone yet, here’s my btag Fairlight#1833.
I have some horde toons and I can summon the mount for you that way.
I’ll be on shortly if you’re also on
Thanks … I will add you later on . Will be in game only in the evening though .
No worries! Don’t hesitate to chat me up when you see me on and, if I’m not in a dungeon, I’ll switch over and summon the mount.
As you can see I finished the quest and got the set, GGs.
Question is the quest giver that summons from the mount is a “Thin Kultiran” human model.
I would love to play as this model!
Add it to human character customization please!
Hm, I have to disagree with you on this.
(from their website)
Base Edition
Includes a pre-purchase* of World of Warcraft®: Shadowlands and early access to Death Knights for Allied Races and Pandaren starting with the Visions of N’Zoth content update.
Heroic Edition
Includes everything in the Base Edition, plus instant access to a Level 120 Character Boost and the Ensorcelled Everwyrm flying mount. The flying mount grants a quest for the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set.
Nowhere in the base edition description does it say you’ll have access to Heroic Edition benefits, and nowhere in the heroic edition does it say that everyone will have access to the transmog.
This is case of providing limited information in order to bait people into buying something that they might not have otherwise purchased. This is how companies lose credibility with the conumer.
Nowhere does it say that the quest is exclusive. It reads as a side note regarding what the mount does. I said in another post I had to go back and recheck what it said before I believed it myself but after reading it again its not being advertised as a feature of the heroic edition but rather a feature of an item within the edition. They should have left it out all together and let it be a happy surprise. Bit hindsight is always 20/20
There you go. It is a feature of Heroic+, not of basic. It is put in there to bait their customers to choose the more expensive version. They knew exactly what they were doing when they marketed it in this manner.
This is the more important part.
