Vestments of the Eternal Traveler Transmogrification Set

You are being silly. It wasn’t going to be very exclusive when 80% of more of the playerbase have it which is likely how many people would be purchasing at least heroic version.

People can justify anything I guess.

It was misleading, if it wasn’t there would have been zero need to clarify.

Now whether you think it was intentional or not is clearly going to be skewed by your feelings on Blizzard. If this was the first time a " mistake " like this had been made I would probably overlook it. Sadly it seems to be a recurring problem as of late.

Continuing with the legal lingo… Blizzard was absolutely on notice that it needed to do a better job with its preorder bonus description language. Anyone who was around at the end of Legion remembers how much of a mess BfA preorders became, when returning players bought in without realizing that the allied races (a big selling point of BfA) were not automatically earned on purchase.

I feel like that one was less egregious, because people paid with the expectation that they would get a thing (allied races), and they got that thing… eventually. But the BfA preorder issues absolutely should have made Blizzard 100% aware that they needed to be more clear in their preorder messaging. They didn’t, and there really are no excuses this time around.

So we can say they don’t want to be in this situation, poor Blizzard, etc., but it’s hard for me to believe that a team with a former freakin’ WilmerHale lawyer at its head didn’t know exactly what it was doing with the fine print.

TLDR it’s hard to believe this was a mistake, when they already knew the frustration bad choice of preorder language can cause.

Gonna be my new catchphrase whenever I see post like this.

Interesting, this should have been posted long before now though, like when pre orders went online

You got a mount, 120 boost, and weapon visual. You got your money’s worth, those who got the $40 got shadowlands only. Don’t be greedy.

Disclaimer - I pre-ordered the epic edition on day 2.

Heroic Edition gives access to a flying mount.
Flying mount(only available to heroic+)gives access to a quest for transmog.
Anyone reading this would reasonably conclude that you need the mount to get the quest.
Definitely poorly worded, bordering on false advertising.

They should 100% offer refunds to anyone who only upgraded for the transmog and didn’t use the boost yet.

Blizzard communication minus 50dkp

That’s a bad F’ing move.

You sell the set as an upgrade to a higher priced tier of the expansion and then say, oh people who bought basic can now have this as well?

I’m done with you guys. You’re an absolute joke of a company. Your game designer keeps making crap decisions with every new patch and now your marketing team joins in on being clowns.

Clownivision Blizzard strikes again.

What wasn’t misleading? There was three pictures with each expansion you could select from. The Heroic show-casing the transmog set and mount with a boost. The Epic having the pet, illusion, hearthstone, etc included.

The best part is that nowhere does it say that buying the expansion gives you the Vestments. No where at all. So the only logical thing to think would be that you’d have to BUY it where it was ADVERTISED. Which was Heroic and Epic editions.

Actually reading things, especially when you quote them goes a long way. If you go back and read what you quoted…

I absolutely acknowledge that there is a misunderstanding. But it IS NOT the result of misleading advertisement.

I admit that I myself assumed incorrectly. Doesn’t mean we were mislead.

We were mislead. Nowhere, absolutely nowhere did it say we would have access to the armor set w/o the heroic or more versions.

Oh this is just sad, sounds like I have had the quest as long as you and I have finished it. Literally killing one mob in Mythic Mechagon gave me 6 drops. If you really cant wait go down to the Blood Gate in Zuldazar and farm them for 20+ hours and you’ll have your set.

Make that mount quest giver a playable character model for the new human customization options in Shadow Lands please!

I don’t get why anyone is surprised.

Remember just before blizzcon when everyone found out that blizzard was pulling out $500k in esports prize money because of vague language?

Same thing here. Vague misleading language.

Stop being surprised people.

This is the definition of misleading. If you aren’t stating something in order to make more profit, it is misleading. It also doesn’t say anywhere on the base version that the quest is available without the mount. Leaving out those key points is misleading, you have to see that.

The good old bait and switch. I should have expected as much.

How are you guys (Blizzard) still so bad at communicating things after all these years of practice and claiming ‘we’ve learned from this’ and ‘we will communicate more/better in the future’ ?

It’s ridiculous

I would bet my entire pet and mount collection this was a bug but now they are afraid to take the transmog away from people with the standard edition.
