No, that is what people refer to as the guaranteed drop. They removed that weeks ago.
I just queued for a normal dungeon, did 3 trash pulls, got my 6, left dungeon. Exactly how I did it on all my other characters. It is still accurate today.
The fact I’ve killed 200+ Humanoids every day for a month and only had 3 drop total tells me otherwise.
I have helped over 5 people get them. It has been consistent across all of our collection, and we all do it the same way, queue for dungeon, do 3-7 trash pulls, get them, then leave. Sitting and farming them is not the way to do it if you want it with a reasonable amount of effort put in. We also experienced the “4-6 chunks” at the blood gate, and then continued to farm for 1.5 hours, only getting 1-2 each, after a total of 1.5 hours. There have been days where people are unlucky and don’t get them, that’s because it’s not a guaranteed drop, it’s just a higher than “less than 1%” drop chance for your first chunk each day.
I. Have. Not. Farmed. Them.
I literally just kill humanoids trying to get the “SUPPOSED” 3-4 you’re supposed to get every day. The humanoids are not in the same place every day.
You have anecdotal evidence, whereas wowhead comments has plenty of actual evidence that the drop rate has been nerfed and the “guaranteed” drops removed.
First of all,
Wowhead is nothing but anecdotal evidence. It’s a fan sharing site.
Secondly, do you understand how drop rates work? Just because you do not experience something else that the majority does, does not mean that the rate is incorrect, it means you are unlucky. Furthermore, looking at wowhead, the only person who claims “4-6 is wrong” has 7 upvotes, compared to the higher upvoted post, and right below it, someone with 5 upvotes confirms it. So, even by your own math of ignoring the masses, and going down and looking for your answer, it’s sullied by a comment immediately beneath it. And here’s a screenshot that proves they drop in 4-6 chunks, unless you think I’m pedantic and held onto this just to defend Blizzard.

Edit: Oh yeah, they definitely don’t drop in chunks, definitely didn’t just confirm it on 6 characters (i’m being sarcastic at this point) links below, on another thought though, the number is 3-6, not 4-6, this was stated on wowhead, but is indeed not the top comment, in either case, they still, 100%, drop in chunks as of today, available once a day, not guaranteed to drop.

So there’s your replicated data since wowhead wasn’t enough for you (though i’m sure you’ll reject this since you want to be upset at something), I did have to run 2 dungeons for one chunk, the rest were very quick though, second longest was about 10 pulls.
This seems unnecessary to get upset about. It’s not like the Heroic version ONLY came with the mog. Heck, even in regards to mog, there’s the weapon enchant that is still exclusive to you.
The mog and a level boost. Some people don’t want the level boost, so they bought it only for the mog.
And a mount.
ask for a refund - simple.
i don’t think blizzard has had good faith with their customers since WoD. why should anyone be surprised or shocked by this latest incident.
I haven’t read the thread, and I’m not upset. But the advertising does make the transmog look like a reward for the heroic and up editions,
" Heroic Edition
Includes everything in the Base Edition, plus instant access to a Level 120 Character Boost and the Ensorcelled Everwyrm flying mount. The flying mount grants a quest for the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set."
Knowing the current Blizzard, this is almost certainly an “oops… well, it’s a feature, not a bug!”
You guys should auto given the quest so that people who upgraded to standard edition without the mount could have received the quest easily and eliminated all this confusion.
Wait I didn’t knew it was that complicated. I farmed out all 40 (is it 40? I don’t really remember) of them at blood gate in a day, within 5 or 6 hours I think? I did it a week after Blizzcon.
If you are fine farming for hours on end, it’s fine to sit at the blood gate, as a melee character though, it was not worth it for me. Would much rather take about an hour spread out over 2 weeks than sit there, having to melee one thing, mount up, repeat for 5 or 6 hours, I did my farming for the original Winterspring Frostsaber and enchanting patterns in BC from ogres, I’m over mindless grinding.
Well that was my first time grinding anything like that, at 1 hour mark I was thinking “why am I paying to torture myself? Who is this eternal traveler dude and why am I doing what I’m doing?”, but I pushed through lol.
Can we play as this character model
Thin Human Kultiran model we need to add this to character customization options please.

Seems like another incentive to pre-purchase Shadowlands.
Nice marketing, Blizz. Pretty messed up to people who understand what you’re doing, but i guess that’s how Acti-Blizz works now…
Definitely going to be going over Blizzard’s words with a magnifying glass before my next purchase.
I saw the strange wording and figured it was a mistake or oversight. Turns out that Blizzard doesn’t make mistakes in their marketing text.
Look. I’m not white-Knighting by any measure here, but consider that a lot of different moving parts exist in the Video Game industry. It’s not out of place that something is forgotten, or isn’t communicated amongst the multiple teams that exist, be it Design, Marketing, Q.A., Graphic Design, Website, Management, and so on up the line.
Could this of been handled better? For sure. Does anyone like the situation? Heck no. The issue was one that existed for a while, and it was IMHO not well communicated. While this happens, I totally get why and how it could happen. I know from my experience with the industry that there was more than likely nothing nefarious about it.
I do think the Graphic Design team made a mistake in their presentation, since anyone who saw the three designs on the Blizzard Shop would note that the advertising for the Heroic and Epic featured the Eternal Traveller Mog Set.
While the wording is ambiguous, one would reasonably assume that this was exclusive to those two versions since the Mount was included on both and the Quest gave you the mog. It should of been vetted a little better, but that’s water under the bridge now. This sort of thing happens when you have deadlines.
The wording however when coupled with the graphical representation is ambiguous enough IMHO that it fails the “reasonable person” test, that is often applied in law. This is why I understand the players who cry foul. People should however keep in mind that no one, ( least of all Blizzard Entertainment ) wants to be in this situation.
Hence I believe it would be an act of good faith if Blizzard were to credit players who bought the Heroic or Epic Versions an extra month, or perhaps a WoW Token at current value. I suggest that simply because that would be the difference in the cost ($20.00) and I think would go far to smooth this over with finality.
I can’t say my solution is ‘the’ solution, and I don’t honestly mind since I got the Epic edition for the Weapon Illusion. The mount probably was enough to justify the Heroic edition being $20.00 more as well. Still, I suggest it as a idea to put this affair to rest. I really don’t want to discuss this in 2021.
