It looks like the authentication servers crashed. I am sure they are aware of the issue since it is being splashed in many of the forums as well, but it could take time to find the cause and fix it.
They would need more information. Specific realms or all realms. ISP. State/Province/Country.
If it’s an issue with the actual realms the techs at the data centers are already working on it.

Yeah seems to be a battle net issue along with some server stuff.

We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.

BNET imploded, classic and hearthstone are having issues too. Half of NA/OCE/LA servers are down and most people can’t log in. Only one person I know managed to log in the past few minutes.

Thanks for the update but it seems like it’s becoming a weekly thing. If someone can just say “Hey Alexa/Siri, DDoS Blizzard every week at x please”, can’t ya’ll tell Alexa/Siri to block it? Or something? I’m way too Boomer to understand it but it seems to be becoming as regular as maintenance.

For what it’s worth, the situation is better than it was a few years back, especially when you consider that there are DDoS-for-hire botnets out there that can produce tens of millions of attacks per second. The total number of attacks worldwide is still growing, but Blizz appears to have been doing better at avoiding them the it was 5 - 7 years ago. Or was.

Back in. I’d like to thank Blizz, its IT folks, and for all I Know, its cloud provider for getting me back on in < 20 minutes, something that used to take hours.
