When gearing my toons up for pvp, I usually look at things like Murlok but also just check what the top players of whatever spec i’m playing are generally doing.
I’ve noticed quite a few players allowing themselves to go into 35%+ versatility, some almost 40%. It was my understanding that there is a diminishing return after 30%, and so it is usually best (if you can) to start stacking another stat after that point. Is this not the case with some classes? Are they just not caring about being optimal, or is perhaps better survivability more important for some classes?
Yeah, but it’s only 10% off gains beyond 30% until the next breakpoint, so while it’s an okay time to start grabbing other stats if something is worth getting 30% of there’s often a chance it’s worth going beyond that point.
Well, maybe. It depends. Some specs don’t benefit much output wise from vers.
Uh, Affliction is probably the first thing that comes to mind for me.
I remember Mastery doing like twice the damage or something at one point. Most specs are probably gonna want at least like 20-25%, though, after which you can kind of decide how much you’d benefit from losing the passive reduction of vers.
I’m probably gonna have a set that’s light on vers for Fury.
if u start pushing well into 40s for affy our damage suffers hard. But if u go too low it also suffers. Usually notice it around 30% now. Our mastery doesnt affect our oblivion or life drain so u lose out on some burst. i think 35 is absolute best feeling
