I don’t want to “be that guy” – but there was a reason why A LOT of people who got into Warcraft that weren’t confident Tanking/DPSing went healer.
I remember telling my Girlfriend years and years ago, just roll healer. Its fun, and you’ll get to experience the game and learn the basics, then you can go DPS or Tank once you figure things out.
Not anymore, there isn’t an “Easy” roll - DPS arguably is the easiest, because all you need to focus on is “killing bad, kicking bad, and dodging bad”. – As a healer, your job is to correct “Bad Killing, Bad Kicking, and Bad Dodging”.

I’ve never heard of people advocating healing a dungeon first.
Back in Vanilla, BC, and Wrath the meme was that Girls went healer because it was the easiest role to learn.
Yea but girl = guy in real life was also around so…
As dps I use defensives, heals and pots to help healers, especially if I’ve stepped in something bad and its definitely my fault. Its the main reason I play ret and enhance, honestly, always have utility to help out. Do you think people failing to do this is where the gap is? Is that failure a side effect of meters?

and a lot of groups expect you to also pump out dps and keep up with CC (well, the CC isn’t really a huge deal, can be easy to forget or let slip in a huge chaoic “oh no =)” pull though). you are now doing your job and acting as a 4th dps, and adhering to mechanics.
let’s not add the players who don’t use personals or move out of easily avoidable things. or when their excuse is “well it won’t kill me!” as if taking a 40% hp nuke doesn’t put them in the position for something unavoidable to kill them soon after.

I use raid frames in mythic plus and have them set to under my character’s feet. No problem seeing swirlies while still being able to watch the health bars

I chose to come back to healing in TWW because it looks so awful and difficult that I don’t want to leave it to pugs lol
What I’m finding is people take a lot, a LOT of unnecessary dmg on top of the designated phases in fights where they’re actually suppose to.
Top culprits:
- Every DK seems to be spec’d into AMZ and doesn’t use it ever.
- Many Mages spec into Mass Barrier but their blazing, ice or arcane shields never go out on the group
- No Rogue ever uses Feint ever (good thing it’s getting removed from GCD)
I look for these things post-dungeon trying to figure out where things went wrong between Omnicd and Details for example.
It’s like everyone looks up the same wowhead articles from 3 months ago telling them where to put talent points, but they also expect wowhead to play their character for them as well because they can’t be bothered to know what these talents do! lol
Gonna be a lot of paid carries to ksm and ksh this season, I tell ya hwat lol
And the mouthiness from these people, or their buddies when we wiped because… well… people died… the mouthiness is absolutely tilting.
I have not once timed a key where we wiped and someone erroneously said something snarky about heals to… motivate the group? lol Best to /ignore and leave tbqh
I always heal it first. o.O
Yep. They become increasingly important as you get past the very basic keys to have some sort of weakaura going. Can’t post links on the forum so I’ll put up what to search for at least.
search for twwdungeons on wago
On curse: sharedmedia_causese
On curse: sharedmedia
Grab all 3. That will give you sounds on dungeon abilities like AOE, feet (check your feet), etc. it gives you indicators for various things like the buffs bosses get, or debuffs you have on you.
Search for M+ Targeted Spells TWW S1 on wago
The above tells you when you’re targeted with something, gives you a cast timer, a sound, and more importantly indicators on the nameplates in case you wanted to kick it or stun it.
A good plater profile is the other important one. I suggest Quazii’s (google it, he has site for it along with tutorials). Main thing is that increases the size of important casts to interrupt or CC. Otherwise you’re pretty much flying blind until you memorize every spell in the dungeons. Also notifies of frontals.
Throne and liberty is on steam for free.

They understood exactly what they were asking for. The people complaining now are terrible players who managed to get Elo boosted by playing an easy role with very low expectations placed on its performance. They think it’s some tragedy that they actually have to perform their role instead of just needing to press buttons and not actively brick keys.
Until the very top end I imagine no one cared if 10% of the group’s DPS was only performing at 60% capacity. So long as they pressed their occasional healing buttons they were a “great” healer to people who needed healers to run dungeons.
Tanking is literally the easiest role by a large margin inside of a dungeon. It’s also the easiest role to get into a dungeon with. If you’re miserable as a tank this season it’s entirely self-inflicted.
Hi, I’m a long time healer and my best advice is to just accept reality. Get rid of any mods or addons that are covering your screen so you can watch the team in action. This way when the purple swirly appears on the ground you can see it.
This way you won’t have any addons or mods blocking your perfect view of your warlock teamate standing directly dead center on that swirly. You’ll see the warlock there, casting malefic rapture. You’ll have all the time in the world to ponder to yourself, is he going to cancel that malefic rapture and move out of that purply swirly. No, the answer is always no. But are you going to heal him? Not with my new and patented healing approach, the warlock has a healthstone and unending resolve and soul leech. He can’t expect me to heal him if I can’t expect him to save himself. When the warlock dies, and they will die, your stress level diminishes, knowing you don’t have to be concerned with them any more for the rest of the battle.

Sound’s like your new to healing. Its never been ezer to be a healer in PvE and PvP. You chose the role to keep people alive. DPS choose to roll to watch podcast and spam 3 buttons. And tank got the worst cause they get blamed for everything now outside the heals.

Tried to time an 11, smooth except trash pull after second boss.
(Wiped, bricked, did finish.)
I haven’t healed any M+ this expansion, but I’ve watched my son doing so, and through his experience I feel your pain. He’s healing for his mythic raiding guild after tanking throughout DF, and earning M+ title 3/4 seasons, but he’s already given up on M+ healing, as it’s just pure misery.
At this point he plans to do nothing in WoW other than raid log to heal for his guild, and is spending most of his gaming time on other games. I would not be surprised if he’s unsubbed shortly after maxing out iLvL for this season which will be in 2-3 weeks.
Healing is fun, more than its ever been for people that like healing.
