I came back to wow for the purpose of getting into pvp again. I last played during the BC days and am really disappointed with what I have discovered since coming back.
It boggles me why they would change a pvp system that was working well. It’s hard to imagine why they would make something worse and not better or at least realize a mistake and revert to the working model in an trial and error effort of refining pvp.
I’ll stick around longer to see if things get better in shadowlands, but honestly there are better pvp experiences that I may go to.
Pve is cool and all, it’s just not what I want to be a requirement for me to be a pvp player. Why is a mediocre/decent pvp experience locked behind hours upon hours of pve endeavors.
Why???
Reframed, Blizzard… would you make a pve player do hours upon hours of pvp grinding to be decently geared for pve?
I get a smile on my face with a challenging match. I don’t find pve to be the challenge I’m that interested in. It’s too predictable for me and there isn’t any surprises, I just have to read a guide and coordinate with others that do so too and play a numbers game. It might not feel like that for everyone, this is the perspective I have as player with a preference for pvp in an mmo.
For me, pvp has so many different variables that could occur because it’s another player who is trying out different specs and strategies against you. I can never be totally sure what to expect from pvp and I love that.
But I don’t have that experience with the way the gearing system is now and how it is looking it will be in SL.
Pve players don’t need pvp skill to be dominant at pvp and that makes me sad.
I guess I’ll stay around and enjoy the new storyline, but honestly I’m losing interest as time goes on. I just really want a good pvp system and I’ll stick around in SL to see if these problems get fixed.
Having a good pvp system doesn’t ruin the pve system. I don’t see what blizzard is trying to do. It really doesn’t make sense. Do they share and explain their ideas and thought process with us around their decisions or do we just get surprised with these weird decisions. Do they actually take feedback from players? Cause I haven’t seen anyone in favor of or wanting the current and upcoming pvp systems.
It’s a good first step Blizzard, but please listen to the community.
I could go on and on but this post is a good read that provides solutions to the current problems.
