Venruki posted a reaction to Stoopzz’s video so you’ve probably already seen it. Nice to see him make a point that we should all be making noise about these vendors.
The last minute really got me where he shows a tweet from Hydra stating he’s got all his PvP gear ready, he’s missing neck, shoulders, chest, back, braces, gloves, pants, and a ring. Half of his gear is missing and needs PvE to complete it:
2 set bonus: 10% reduced damage taken in PvP
4 set bonus 10% increased damage done in PvP
6 set bonus: 10% reduced damage taken in PvP
8 set bonus 10% increased damage done in PvP
Unfortunately, Blizzard is probably worried about keeping PvEers happy. If they can’t step into PvP and RP as a demigod with their mythical gear, it’s upsetting.
There should be a class action filing against Blizzard every time they claim to value feedback.
We get one opportunity every two years to make noise and they don’t care either way. It’s almost as if they aren’t cognizant that every big decision they make comes with either two year praise or suffering due to their unwillingness to make big changes mid-xpac, probably due to dev cost cutting.
The worst part is if they don’t make a change then we know not to expect another opportunity for two years, and having to just deal with crappy systems for the duration of an entire expansion (and in this case multiple expansions) results in unhealthy amounts of resentment for a game we all want to love.
Thats not the worst of it, the gear lvl for it sucks. Watched another video raid finder gear is way better item lvl, to get slightly better than raid finder gear you have to upgrade the gear peice 5 times, yes thats 5 times, cost him about 30k to do that with one peice of gear. God help us with this new vendor.
That’s the only rational explanation I can think of too. To be fair, it is a royal PITA to Mythic raid consistently. They have put in a lot of effort. I don’t think they should have to grind out a new set (nor do I like grinding out a separate PvE set TBH).
I don’t know much about SL yet, but if they’d just nerfed the PvE trinkets and made the PvP main essence a clear winner for each class/spec, the difference wouldn’t have mattered much this season.
They need to fix PVP GEAR not just the vendors, crafted pvp items should also contribute to either a PVP set or PVP stat, this way casual BGs won’t be extremely hard to gear up for, as well as being really easy for a new player identify what the correct gear is for when you play PVP.
The thing is… no matter what they have to grind out a different set because versatility is generally not a good stat in PvE
No matter what you have entirely different gearsets, they would need to save bad pieces from an M+ run for a PvP set to begin with
Also remember from mythic raids it’s usually a few key pieces that are BiS for PvP not their overall gear (trinkets/azerite in this xpac generally)
You’re never not going to have two gearsets so it’s an impossible issue to fix. I actually have multiple different gearsets in PvE depending on raid/m+/boss I’m killing and same with PvP, my bags are just filled with so much stuff lol, and the stat priorities are so vastly different
Ion claims it’s 2 complicated to have pve AND pvp gear. That’s literally his answer to why no pvp stat…REEEEEE.
In 8.3 I have infinite stars set, haste/crit amp set, lash/TD aoe set for pve, full gushing set, full vers amp set and 50/50 set for pvp. We currently literally have the most complicated frustrating rng annoying gearing system in wow history. Idk what’ so meowing complicated to understand in pvprs like to pvp and pvers like to pve, my bags are FULL WITH GEAR I had to earn in various garbage rng ways but putting PVP gear that’s bis for PVP on a PVP vendor would require wayy to much brainpower from wow gamers.
Legion is the only xpac where you didn’t need a pvp set and ppl STILL made max ilvl sets to boost their pvp template. Help me Brian Holinka, you’re my only hope.
