As a mage main, I would like to separate two parts that people are talking about with mage mana. In combat mana and out of combat mana. A heavy part of mage gameplay and why mage has some of the higher burst spells is because we have to deal with mana management. Our current mana pull for bosses feels great and if are running oom its because you are a bad mage and don’t know how to manage your mana.
Now outside of combat is where mana is lacking. Our water was not meant for the mana we have. Its way to low. They need to give us a Dire Maul esque quest for an upgraded water each phase. (or just upgrade the water, but why not use it as an easy way to make some content) Especially for next phase where we are stuck making 2 water a time. This has been a major part of the mage class and its basically completely dead with how it is set up currently.

Given that SoD isnt capped at 25 permanently, why does it need to be fixed again?

You didn’t read what I said, we will have the same issue but worse at 40… We will have bad water that we can only make 2 at a time.
You know what everyone else does?
They buy water.

Can the person who doesn’t play mage stop talking. Thanks. Added to ignore as well.

I play Mage. Go buy water like everyone else.

I don’t believe you. Mage has always been the person to make the water and pass it around on top of it. It as core of a mage feature as a mage making portals if not more.
Then on top of it we have larger mana pools then usual.
Its like OP has never played classic before.

Mage water in Classic has literally always been 1 tier behind the water you can get on vendors, I really don’t understand where you’re coming from (aside from retail).

Yeah, again ignoring the key part of we have more mana so its closer to being 2 tiers behind what it should be. Making downtime really long.
Downtime isn’t long unless you’re playing poorly. You don’t need your entire mana bar for every single encounter.
Played mage in 2019 when classic came out, I have a level 60 HC mage and leveling another has fire mage. I played cutting edge in retail which doesn’t have to deal with mana but as a higher level of play then classic. It is 100% worse then it has ever been. And you saying not is dishonest.

Mana is an issue but the larger issue is that melee are hard scaling from their stats and WF where caster spells are heavily rank based and are not scaling with SP
there is a LARGE gap in damage between melee and casters - mana just slows down the pulls between
Yeah there is other balancing issues for sure. But that is for another topic. This one is more just about the super annoying downtime we have now that is not being properly address.
And me mainly disagreeing with other people talking saying the fix is to lower evocate CD.
You’re 100% right, but some people are dead set against casters having better tools for out of combat regen for whatever reason. They think this will somehow make mages op, even though they are one of the worst dps classes currently. The other caster except warlock do even worse.

I think it’s awesome because once i trade this crappy water to people they stop asking for it.

Lol, I get asked less by the people annoyed about it taking longer to drink but more by the people who still take it since they need to drink twice as much.
If you play efficiently, you’re doing 25% of the damage of physical classes. It’s not balanced or fun. If mages going all out did 25% more damage than everyone else, but had to drink a long time to make up for it, it would be balanced. But even with infinite mana, mages do at best 75% damage of the top classes right now.
Yeah the raid doesn’t really need a mages full dps on trash, but that’s a dumb way of looking at it. Other classes don’t need to throttle, their water is crappy, can live without AI. At some point, you start thinking, what is the point of bring a mage.
That’s Classic. Everyone is a simp to the Warrior overlords.
It’s SOD, not classic. Is there a reason why people are so resistant to better balance across classes for a seasonal game mode?
