Vashj'ir. Did you hate it or like it?

I can’t even remember the last time I ventured into Vashj’ir. It just irritated me on some deep, fundamental level. And that’s even playing as a druid with the aquatic form handy.

It was fine.

Some people wouldn’t even be happy if you gave them a bag full of $100 bills. They would just complain that “the bag isn’t very big.”

It was kinda neat the first time back in cata, I tried it again a couple years ago and left before I unlocked the seahorse.

looks cool but it really is just suffering to play though compared to normal questing zones

Cleared it again last night on a fresh 85 as ret pally for the ER rep.
It was a chore.
Underwater combat is inconvenient.
Takes a very long time to complete. Seahorse is slower than 280+ flying. I believe it was 4 or 6 hours (2-3 wickerman buffs at 2hr each) to get to the submarine towards the end of the chain. And not even done yet.
No loot during the naga questline.
Hyjal is fast. You loop counterclockwise to Sanc of Malorne. The short Shrine of Aviana. Then the twilight line.
Hearthing back to capital city to the place where you stopped questing can take forever. Setting hearth to your quest zone makes getting back to home city a long trek. Unless you set hearth at quest giver, merely getting back to quest giver takes a long time since you can’t go in a straight line but have to go up down left right between the structures or underwater mountains. Good example is Darkbreak Cove and Tenebrous Cavern and the quest area to the west is decidedly a horrible route.
The color contrast is low… mostly blue and green. No sky or horizon for orientation.
Can buy the capital hearth cloak with a 2-4 hour cooldown or use potion of deepholm if you are 82

It’s one of the most unique zones in the game. It’s equally beautiful and terrifying.

Mechanically, however, I’m not a fan of. Depth perception and spatial awareness goes the window - It’s why I don’t enjoy the underwater Delves as much either.

Never have liked any of the underwater stuff. It’s not even managing the breath thing since I have warlocks and potions etc. It just feels clunky and awkward. Did it once for Loremaster and never went back.

thats the only thing i actually remember from that whole zone.
why are we asking questions about a cata zone?

I enjoyed it once I got the speedy seahorse mount. I hated the start of the zone (and confirmed this in Cata Classic too, recently.) Once I could move around faster I quite liked it. I was surprised to find out so many hated it.

I remember not liking it but then I realized I had the render distance a bit too close. So once I could actually SEE, it was fine

Because it’s a general discussion forum and this is a general discussion about one of the zones in the game? Why not?
