Vashj'ir. Did you hate it or like it?

Vashj’ir is probably one of the most hated zones in WoW, if not the most hated. I honestly liked it. I thought the concept was unique and I quite liked the story for the most part. I would’ve liked to see the zone with it’s original plans prior to the cuts.

Your question reminded me that I had the observation the other day that there is zero underwater content (ive seen) so far this expansion. I thought that was interesting.

As far as your question goes, Vashjir wasn’t my favorite zone but i did enjoy it!

It was fine on the first playthrough. After that, no thank you.

Do some delves. You’ll find it.

I loved it. I replayed it just before they brought in level scaling for all the old zones. It’s such a unique experience in the game. I agree the combat with an extra dimension could be messy and frustrating, but man the sense of vastness is unlike anything else in the game. The quest where you have to sink to the deepest point is freaky.

Was not a fan of the underwater stuff…

There is a delve that has you underwater, though I’m brain farting right now and can’t think of the name. Coffee hasn’t kicked in yet man  only underwater thing I’ve seen though.

I’m not a fan of underwater stuff. It was a one and done for me.

Ah yes, there are a few delves that require swimming now that I think of it. My brain was only thinking about the questing storylines, I couldn’t think of any occurrences there

Depth perception and spatial awareness in WoW both kinda go out the window when you’re flying or swimming. Distances and relative location become so much harder to determine for some reason for things like combat and even interacting with objects/NPCs. So Vashj’ir is a textbook example of ‘cool idea, poor execution’ for me.

I liked the zone too! Not a fav, per se, but I enjoyed that it was sooo different from everything else. I play through it every now and then with alts too.

It was beautiful and fun to look around, but fighting as a monk who does jumps and kicks, the mechanics under the water are goofy and the npcs I fought were often too high or too low which made it hard to fight well. No thank you.

I liked it, I don’t have motion or visual hang ups so swimming around is always cool. I mained a Druid back then so getting mileage out of my aquatic form was dope.

I also think it’s a beautiful zone and I like it when the bad guys we are dealing with are the naga.

I thought it was awesome but I played it as druid.

The underwater nonsense?

I didn’t hate it, but it’s not my favorite. The main thing I really didn’t like was being forced into using the sea horse mount to travel quick. Makes it a pain (haven’t actually played that zone since like 2018 so idk if dragon riding changed it.)

But I liked the concept.

Hated it. Even with the seahorse, the underwater aspect of it was disorienting.

I liked it for the most part, but some of the execution leaves a bit to be desired. Also playing through it now feels intolerable because some of the mobs have undodgeable LOOOONG stuns, because that used to be a thing in older wow. Loss of control effects in PVE are now something that happens because you screwed up, or in group content where the group needs to save you, but at the time having a mob just stun you for half the fight with no counter play other than a trinket or racial was just normal.
