Vashj'ir. Did you hate it or like it?

I farm obsidium ore there all the time, this zone has some of the best art work in the game, some zones are truly amazing looking, if you have never bothered to check it out before it is worth a 20 minute tour, one of my favorite areas is the Uderlight canyon, small area with not much there but is like Crytalsong forest under water.

Vashj’ir has the best self contained zone story in the entire game.

Nazjatar was supposed to be an underwater zone to quest in.

Vashij’ir?? Well that’s a thing that hasn’t crossed my brain in years. I legit had to think for a few seconds lol.

neutral?
i dont have any sticking memories from it aside from getting the seahorse.

mustve been meh…

I loved it. I also really enjoy Dawnbreaker and enjoyed Plunderstorm and wish it was a permanent PvP queue. I like when Blizzard is innovative and creative.

The zone was pretty. I didn’t like the mechanics. A lot of spells just sank to the floor if you were fighting in the water. Only did it on one character due to that.

I liked it. My problem with it is that it constantly broke mount macros to the point where it felt like every patch I had to make a new one because they changed something in the api again.

Kind of like how advflyable is breaking things in certain zones/dungeons now. Smh.

No I loved it. It was the best zones in the game.

The underwater delves are ok. not bad. but vashjir, after my first playthrough of cataclysm content when it was new, I avoided that zone like the plague. I still do. That and zaralekk caverns are tied as the worst zones in the whole world excluding no flight zones.

Went through the whole zone on my first cata playthrough. Will never step foot
in it again. While it isnt #1 on my most hated zones list. It is close to the top.

I loved Vashjir. I had no issue with the whole 3d combat and verticality thing many did. However, i can kinda see why they would. Can’t exactly target Heroic Leaps or Flamestrikes or whatever when there is no ground to target.

Still, to me it was a very unique and beautiful zone, and I often chose it instead of Hyjal for my alt leveling experience. Just a shame it was ultimately abandoned and we never got the underwater raid.

I really liked Vashjir, getting a seahorse mount and zooming around the underwater zone, seeing all the ruins taken over by naga was very cool. I wish the raid that was supposed to go there ever came into fruition.

I hate any water zone.

Not a fan of open water in real life but I also don’t care much for zones that make a ton of use of the z-axis as it makes finding/completing quests a pain in the rear.

Going through it once for loremaster isn’t to bad even as someone who absolutely hates the zone and will never go back (unless the game forces me to finish up doing the zone 4 separate times once for each armor type.) It takes at most 3-4 hours which is nothing compared to the long term goal of lore master.

I also liked it!

Of all the Cataclysm unique zones it’s by far my favorite visually and I think it had one of the better stories in an expansion where the story took a significant nosedive. I personally never had issues with the gameplay side but I can understand why people would.

Going into the giant sea creatures and the criminally underused Submarines were the 2 main things I took away from redoing the zone in Cata Classic after many years of choosing to level in more conventional cata zones for the speed.

i tolerated it.

I thought it was fun. Something new

Absolutely adored it. Lovely, Beautiful, some may see it as dated nowadays, but it remains one of the most beautiful zones in game, second to Naz’jatar when it comes to aquatic settings. There’s this horror element amidst it all too, that natural fear of going deeper that it plays well with all the weird creatures about.
It’s a true shame sooo many hated it. A true shame.
