Varian's death - Wrathion's fault?

I could reasonable blame taren zhu for wasting time with a trial yes. I can blame thrall for making really bad choices. When gary was the obviously worst option. Or letting gally live in cata.

Varressa decided to not posion gary after talking to anduin and told him about the food. She left it to him make a choice. Wrathions actions would have countered varessas even if she hadn’t changed her mind.

This is the part of it I never understood.

Why did Garrosh have anything to do with “holding back” the Legion? What good would sending him to AU Draenor do to stop that? His actions only ended up making the thing he didn’t want to happen happen anyway.

Wrathions goal ever since we meant him was to gain the strongest army possible. He doesn’t care how. He plays both sides in mop with the goal of leading whichever comes out ontop.

When his plan falls apart he goes on a rant stating he’ll stop at nothing to defend azeroth no matter the cost.

Anduin and wrathion form a friendship. But anduin tells the player wrathion can not be trusted and that he is dangerous.

His goal with gary was to have the iron horde conquer azeroth then lead it against the legion. But that fsiled to dince we neat the orcs snd the remaining orcs drsnk the demon blood joining guldan

Which brought the legion to our doorstep.

You get it by playing the expacs as they come out. The story line is carried over in each one.

Right now, Sylv is bad and no longer warchief but we won’t find out any more til Shadowlands and that’ll reveal what she’s been up to.

Like that. It’s a simple story basically, spread out over expacs but it’s easy to forget/miss details like what you’ve described in this thread.

I suggest Nobbel’s videos if you care about lore but don’t want to sit through reading novels that are a toss up on quality. Some are pretty good. Some are ‘meh’ at best. Nobbel, however, has a relatively soothing voice so always good to listen to in the background.

He literally tells players he lost his cool and it was unlike him, so it’s left ambiguous on if he’s actually mad at Wrathion.

That was a great scene. Don’t care for the music, not my style but good vid.

Don’t forget the expected deaths when Yrel and her Tyranny of the light transcend reality and come after us.

Possibly. Though yrel didn’t get to tell us her side of the story.

The orcs could have spilled first blood. And if her world is literally being erased what choice does she have?

Wrathion did sucker punch anduin in their last encounter. Yes, i think anduins genuinely pissed.

I would have done more then a single punch personally.

I saw it as Anduin was angry but, unusually, he let his fist do the talking

It also happens at the time he starts having a vision of corrupted stormwind as wrathion is talking about n’zoths influence is already beginning, making people behave differently than normal.

Watch the cutscenes people, explains a bit.

Anduin was affected by n’zoth and got a little crazy.

Wasn’t the entire Gul’dan thing Kadgars fault? he literally makes us free him (and the shadow council) for no reason after we held the portal. at most garrosh wanted to stop the legion from influencing the orcs, he didn’t want the legion to go take power, that was our doing to stop him.

While Wrathion isn’t directly responsible, he still is partially guilty for Varian’s death.

I guess I’m just psychic, learned it at the beginning of WoD without it being mentioned to me ever. Good to know. Gonna go play the lottery.

Also, Wrathion spent a chunk of MoP telling us how he was preparing for an upcoming Legion invasion. Then the Legion invaded and he was nowhere to be found.

Gul’dan and his followers were being used to power the Portal. We really should have just solved that problem by killing them right then and there.

Didn’t we, the players, aid the bronze dragon in MoP on timeless isle?

Collecting thing for him, didnt they give him the power to hop to the alternate universe.

Its all kinda hazy… I just don’t want an anduin Punch to my pretty face

Simply put, the chain of events that led to Varian’s death was a direct result of Wrathion freeing Garrosh. All you have to do is look at who killed him on the Broken Shore to see why Wration was responsible.

He had this convoluted plan to send Garrosh back to the past (thus creating AU Draenor) to form a new Horde to be used in the fight against the Burning Legion when they attacked… which ended up causing the Legion invasion that he was preparing for through a series of events that saw AU Gul’Dan sent to Azeroth to kick off the Legion invasion of Azeroth.

No convoluted plan, no AU Draenor, no AU Draenor, no AU Gul’Dan. No AU Gul’Dan, no Legion Invasion during the events of Legion. Sure, it is likely that the Legion would have invaded eventually, but the particular invasion that killed Varian lays squarely at the feet of Wrathion and his machinations.

Wrathion acted like a kid… which isn’t out of character, he is like… 2 or 3 something years old. I guess sure, magic or whatever made him “mature” fast, but he has pretty much zero experience under his belt.
