Maybe revive Varian, but let Anduin continue to show up too. I like both of those characters.

Anduin starts crying alot after Varian’s death, the boy clearly need a husband or father figure in his life.

He IS, still today, the only character that was mainly hated by everyone and with the time everyone loved him.

While Anduin is annoying, he’s Christie Golden’s pet so we won’t be getting rid of him anytime soon.
But bringing back Varian would just be exchanging Golden’s pet for Metzen’s pet so the problem would remain.

If you’re referring to Saurfang, he died an Alliance puppet so he doesn’t really represent the Orcs or the Horde.

Wolfheart is literally what ruined Varian’s character. They literally magicked away all of his character flaws just so Metzen could project onto him. I honestly mark Wolfheart as the beginning of the decline of WoW writing.
I see it as one of the few times Varian was interesting and not just a placeholder.

No one in the Alliance told him to go 1 on 1 against Sylvanas. He did what Orcs do, saw a battle and went in battle axe first. Also, he wasn’t the only orc that had joined the combined alliance/horde effort against Sylvanas.
