Varian Wrynn

Just because Anduinn calls Saurfang daddy doesn’t mean he can sit on any Orc’s lap.

Yeah, but it was made very clear that the majority of the Horde sided against Saurfang and his band of traitors. Anduin’s first remark upon seeing the rebel camp is how few of them there were.
Just because he was right about Sylvie being evil doesn’t change the fact that he was literally an Alliance plant backed by SI:7 to weaken the Horde.

There is a certain element that is terrified about characters like Anduin. The same people were terrified about Wesley Crusher in STNG. They always combat those characters with an pseudo-macho mocking type of attack.

One wonders what motivates that type of fear?

What are you going on about?

No, Varian’s storyline and conclusion was perfect. Gone before he could be ruined by this new team. To me he’s the equivalent of Tony Staark writing wise for WoW, let him rest as he’s done his part. What Blizzard need to do is fire this writing team so they can have other characters experience equivalent quality story arcs.

Arthas was gone, and they still ruined his ending.

That was the meaning of my post.

It’s so weird how we didn’t see him ONCE in Shadowlands.

Did you read the note to which I was responding?

It wasn’t weird.

When you’re killed with fel magic, your soul is gone.

No, lord chin can get blown by the wind and stay that way.

They didn’t have much choice with Arthas. Advertising works and negative advertising works as well. When the people who can’t stand changes launched their campaign against Shadowlands those CCs that specialize in rage bait, like Bueller Gaming and Asmongold, saw the gold and went for it.

They and a few others launched a major anti Shadowlands campaign and it worked. Blizzard wrapped up Shadowlands no doubt canceling a final point release where Arthas would have been a major character.

So congratulations guys, you won. They cut the last SL release and dealt with Arthas in one scene. And so of course now you are going to complain about that.

Anduin starts to murder alot after his father dieded. Clearly the lesson is: let your dad die so you become big macho man who do big kda.

They’re the creators of the this game. They had the choice to leave him out of it.

(Uther’s memories showing him were fine though. The anima fart cloud wasn’t.)

Where was this said?

They did my boy Varian wrong.

Amazing, every word you just said was wrong.

Yeah they had a choice but like any company their choice is going to be a business decision.

The people who love to hate the video games they play were particularly animated over Shadowlands and that brought on the CC leaches like Bueller gaming and Asmogold whose bread and butter is feeding those people rage bait.

Clearly they needed to quiet the vocal angry minority and the rage bate CCs so they cut the release short. Had there been a 9.3 it probably would have been an Arthas story considering how he was pushed so hard at the beginning of the release.

Instead they dispensed with him and shadowlands and the angry minority and the rage bait CCs in a one scene cloud of smoke. Thanks guys for nothing.

Both Varian’s body and soul were vaporized in fel fire by Gul’dan, and Saurfang’s soul was turned into a trinket. Anduin was simply hallucinating during his defeat cut-scene.

Varian will always be my king
