Vanilla Dungeon 2 set

Will this be available straight away in Classic release?

They’re planning on releasing the content in 4 stages.

The T0.5 or Dungeon 2 set is currently slated to be part of stage 3 along with AQ, Silithus content, and the Nightmare Dragon raid bosses.

Ah damn it, I feel like the time it takes to actually get the set, it should be available a lot earlier, considering you still need dungeon 1.

I’ve discussed this in the other thread about it but why would you bother?
It’s base itemisation is terrible in alot of cases.
It’s quite costly to get for medicore (at best) rewards.
Raiding is subjectively easier.

In a rogues case I can see getting at max 4 pieces for the set bonus which is strong but aside from the helm, chest and boots, the rest is pretty trash and will put you way behind in shooting for a decent amount of hit,

It’s something to do when you’re not raiding. Also, if you have an alt you’re not planning on raiding with it’s a decent set for just doing dungeons and world stuff. The worst part of it is just getting the complete D1 set. The quest chain to upgrade D1 to D2 is actually pretty enjoyable.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Very few, if any of us, will have the full first dungeon set before the second set gets patched in.

Bracers and Belt were dime a dozen common and the odds of not getting your D1 after 10 runs was pretty rare with the exception of chest being a real pain. Chest and Helm were the last pieces to be upgraded.

Magister’s boots were a pain. Nobody ever wanted to summon the Postmaster. In fact the only reason I even bothered to complete the set in the first place was because I was in a group that for some reason decided to kill him and the boots dropped and I won them. It was my first piece. I figured, “welp, I just got the hardest piece, might as well complete the full thing now.”

You can get full dungeon 1 set in a single day, I feel like a lot of people forget you can reset dungeons whenever you want.

Yeah, but you still have to convince the rest of the group to grind the same dungeon until your pieces drop. And you still have to hope the Loot Gods don’t hate you that day and refuse to drop your pieces. I played a lot back then and it still took me a couple of weeks or more to complete the set, if my memory serves me.

Mostly because I won’t be raiding 100%, Ill see how time permits, but casual route might be me.

Sure you can get unlucky and it may take a week, I was replying to OPs implication that it takes 3 months or something to get it…

It took a friend of mine 56 baron runs to get their druid pants.Thats 56 hours or 14 play sessions for them at the time.

You’re better off getting a decent set of gear from everywhere but the D2, but if it gives you something to work towards then go nuts.

I was more implying both sets as a whole, but the time/rng and mats/gold requirement might scare off a lot of people, I personally never tried to get this set the first time around, I was pretty late in vanilla.

You get it because its fun. No other reason.

I got my Druid’s Wildheart set and upgraded it to Feralheart not because the set bonuses were OMG amazing, but because I wanted to have that sick looking set.

They’ve said nothing about the timeframe, I wouldn’t assume that.

Same issue with Dreadmist shoulders. Convincing groups to willingly clear the trash down to Jandice in Scholo usually took quite some effort.

The other thread has all of the for and against arguments you could ever want.

To sum up my opinion:
There is no reason to time gate it’s release as the questline itself on top of D1 acquisition is enough of a gate on it’s own. It should be accessible at release, and the longer you allow raiders to gear up, the less meaningful accomplishing D2 will be.

i dont know a single person who bothered with the set. everyone had much better gear by then.
I might give it a go in Classic though. just to do it

What is your definition of “knowing”? A number of us did it back during vanilla.
