First we say disc isn’t good, and now vanguards was never good, but carried. The trolling is strong here. Need some more subtle bait, or to not come across so strong across multiple threads!

It deals negative damage. If you nerf others ret will remain the same. Damage doesnt grow on trees

Imagine Vanguards getting a corporate job and starting a family. He comes back on weekends and late nights to blow off steam (still in his work khakis), beverages consumed. Can’t even enjoy the game as a hobby because the arena forums make fun of him for having a normal person’s solo shuffle record.

Kinda but it’s always been a utility bot that could at least close out games. Early season though it generally never has enough damage to do that.
i agree that ret prob shouldnt be topping damage with its utility kit, but lets be real theres a lot of things classes should not be able to do when we consider what else they provide and yet nothing really happens to them. Mage should never be as tanky as it is with how much mobility, damage and cc it offers+things like mass barrier, rogue should never be topping damage with how much cc and defensiveness it has+things like ms/disarm.
In terms of ret specifically, i think sanc would prob need to be removed or given a much higher cd and LoH should be affected by damp but at a different rate so it isn’t useless 5 mins into a game. If they remove sanc, then at the same time they could and should do an honor talent rework for ret because their honor talents are insanely boring and mostly just bleh outside of 2.

I dont see the fixation on sanctuary. Yea unless you blanket cc the healer without crossing the ret ofcourse its gonna be removed.
Sanc works as a second trinket as you usually trinket to sanc cc off the healer.
Remember how people always said “warriors could never have double time stormbolt shockwave” look at that every class has gotten lots of tools previously thought impossible, WHY is ret still getting hate for having nerfed sanctuary ? If it was ALL cc then yes but its nigh useless against some classes.
What’s interesting to me is that ret can be in a tuning trough and still be in the top 3 or 4 for melee in solo shuffle between 1800 and 2400 at this point in the season.

Because Lay on hands is overpowered in shuffle with the faster dampening. This is why the good rets seem to want LOH nerfed and WOG buffed

Two reasons really. First, ret has a popular class fantasy, and is one of the most popular specs in the game, and second, it’s not very hard compared to a lot of specs.
I say this as a ret main, I would like the spec to be harder to play, it doesn’t feel like there is a large difference between good and bad rets.
